I saw the movie today and I enjoyed it. Sure it was not perfect, but ti was a damn good film for a first time director. Charlize was not perfect; Kristen was not perfect; No one was perfect.
Kristen did not include any of the Bella ticks. She only put her hand in her hair once as far as I noticed. The only thing I was irk by was the fact that her mouth was agaped a lot in the beginning, and to a lesser extent in the end. Some may say it's to her bewilderment with the fact she hasn't seen the outside world in 8 years.
I wouldn't be surprise if the numbers for today rise. SWATH has good WOM and many theaters have sold out shows.
Mind you my 4:10 pm showing in New York right after I got out of school was practically packed. Main demographic men and women (older) and a splatter of teens.
SWATH has effectively targeted the male audience, there was a good mix.
Prometheus, headlining Noomi Repace and Michael Fassbender, opens June 8 in the U.S. It's debuting in a total of 15 international markets a week ahead of its domestic launch, including France, where it grossed $2.4 million on Wednesday and Thursday (the movie scored the second-biggest opening-day gross of 2012 behind The Avengers for a non-French title).
Opening in Russia on Thursday, Prometheus grossed $2.2 million, the third-highest Fox opening of all time behind the third Ice Age 3 and Avatar. It opened No. 1 in Russia, as well as in Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Switzerland.
I was really shocked when BOM just projected an opening of 39 million for SWATH given the good amount of hype around it. So glad it's getting a great uptick! i myself wanna watch it.
I just got back from Snow White. It was better than expected! I though i was going to crindge during the film because of Kristen, but she actually dilivered.
It has a captivstinf story, enough action and shocks. Go see it!!
And of course Charlize Theron was flawefree
Now i'm really crossing my fingers for Prometheus!! Hope it does well in the US!
