Having topped the UK Albums Chart for two weeks in March with her debut set, Our Version of Events, Emeli Sande is making inroads on U.S. radio with her maiden stateside single, "Next to Me" (Capitol). The soulful track, which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart, bullets at No. 34 in its second week on Adult R&B and is approaching the Triple A chart. "I wanted the album to have a real message of hope," she recently told Billboard.com. "I wanted to speak about unconditional love."
Anyone (US) buy her album? It came out two days ago and has a new song on it. It's called Wonder... I really like it. They omitted Read All About it (Pt. III) but I kept it from the leaked UK version of the album.
I just went to see her last week when she came to Toronto. She's one of the few performers that I've seen who sounds almost exactly if not better than the studio album.
I saw her in San Francisco live last night. She is AMAZING. Her songs are so powerful and her voice is flawless. Bought her album at the venue, and I've been listening to it non-stop.
