Samantha Jade claims her second #1 hit with Firestarter. It is the lead single to her upcoming album. Samantha was the winner of The X Factor Australia in 2012.
Her competition are Austin Mahone, Macklemore & Miley Cyrus. Both Austin & Miley have already hit #1 this summer with We Can't Stop & What About Love, but they could easily reclaim it. Macklemore is vying to have his second #1 with Same Love, which charges 9 - 3 this week.
Little Mix could also be in line for the next #1, as DNA and Red Planet enter the Top 10 this week at #'s 7 and 6 respectively.
Debuting this week is Live For the Night by Krewella at #28, Spread a Little Love by Havana Brown at #33 and I'm Out by Ciara f. Nicki Minaj at #35. Krewella and Havana Brown are no strangers to this countdown. Havana has had three Top 10 hits previously with We Run the Night, You'll Be Mine and Big Banana. Her highest peak was #3 with You'll Be Mine. Spread a Little Love is vying to be her fourth Top 10 hit. For Krewella, it is vying to be their second Top 10 hit, maybe even their second #1 hit. Their breakout single, Alive, is still charting this week at #14, down two spots.
Retiring this week is Snapback by 4Count. It spent 20 weeks at the chart, peaking at #10. They might be back with their new song She Ain't You, if it's good enough.
A song that is coming close to debuting next week is All-American Boy by Steve Grand. He is the first gay country singer that we know of and is currently unsigned. But his song sparked a lot of interest on ATRL this week and his song is vying to debut on this countdown as soon as next week.
Now I would like to take you guys back to a song that retired back in February of this year. Clarity by Zedd f. Foxes had retired long before it blew up. While it's no longer eligible to chart, considering there were no special circumstances (such as a music video leak, which led to Curiosity's return), the song would be #1 on my recurrent charts right now.
Let's take a look back at this jam, that unfortunately retired long before it blew up in the states.
6 more months and I'm no longer a teenager (I'll be 20 in January)

Samantha Jade, Austin Mahone & Macklemore hold onto their Top 3 positions, with Firestarter being #1 for a second week in a row. Little Mix meanwhile moves into the Top 5 for the second time this year with Red Planet, which charges to #4. Their other song on the countdown, DNA moves up to #6.
Demi Lovato makes history as she has spent her first 20 weeks on the chart within the Top 10 of the countdown - a first for any song. 7 of those 20 weeks were at #1. And chances are, this will be Heart Attack's final week in the Top 10, as Really Don't Care is right behind it at #11.
Heart Attack was produced by Mitch Allan, who also produced Fifth Harmony's Miss Moving On which charges up 10 spots to #13. Fifth Harmony came from the second season of X Factor USA. Another act from that show, Emblem3 moves up one spot to #16 with Chloe. The winner of that season, Tate Stevens, has yet to even be successful in the US, let alone my countdown, where he will most likely never ever debut...like ever (he didn't deserve to win anyway).
Retiring this week is Emeli Sande's Next To Me. It peaked at #5.
Debuting this week is the hunky gay country singer Steve Grand with All-American Boy, as well as comeback singles from 78violet (formerly known as Aly & AJ) and the Jonas Brothers with Hothouse and First Time. Surprisingly, 4 years away from the scene was really good for the Jonas Brothers because I REALLY like this song! I never would have said that 5 years ago.
@HeLikesMusic - I guess we're even since it was your promo that got me to Untouchable.

It was a big week for music. Probably my favorite week April 9. Let's go through the big highlights.
Rock N Roll was unlocked as the new single by Avril Lavigne. I fell in love with it on the first listen and it is now the second #1 debut for Miss Lavigne on my countdown
Also released this week was Miss Movin' On by Fifth Harmony to iTunes. The song has now zipped 13 - 2 on my countdown. It is so far my favorite song to come from an X Factor USA contestant
Demi Lovato & Selena unveiled new music videos for Made In the USA and Slow Down. As a result, they jump into or back into the Top 20 this week.
Cassadee Pope also released her music for Wasting All These Tears. It climbs up two more spots to #6 this week
Meanwhile, The Voice's newest winner Danielle Bradbery is vying to debut on the countdown with her new single, The Heart of Dixie as soon as next week
It would've debuted if Karmin's song Acapella wasn't so flawless, along with their epic music video! And I'm starting to develop a crush on Nick! (no potentbreakupsong, not you, sorry babe )
With so much music events unfolding, some songs just fell victim and plummeted. One of them plummeting to their death. Retiring this week as a result is I Need Your Love by Calvin Harris f. Ellie Goulding. It peaked at #4, the same peak as Feel So Close, but two spots lower than Lights & Sweet Nothing. The best thing about this music video is that Calvin was shirtless in it
The other song retiring this week is Alive by Krewella. This song I fell in love with on the first listen, and it's one of my favorite songs released this year.
Now, we have had debuts from Avril & Karmin, but we also had a debut from Bonnie McKee. Her song American Girl caught my eye this week and it will be on iTunes next week! The celebrity singing montage video made me smile because it had Karmin, Katy, Ke$ha, Carly & Macklemore all in it Though I also like Lance & Nicole.
Next week should be awesome as well since Selena's album is going to be released
Tune in next week for the last countdown of July, as well as a special "Best of" for a certain artist. Who will it be for? Tune in to find out
