I love Jinkx, but Alaska deserved it a bit more. Not only is she the most well-rounded queen out of the three, fully equipped with the fashion sense to compliment her acting/comedy, but she was also the most fully realized aesthetically and always held a near religious devotion to her character. Sharon nailed it when she said Alaska was a perfect combination of Jinkx's theater campyness and Roxxxy's pageant glamour.
Moreover, I felt that Jinkx came off a bit insincere tonight. Aside from the fact that whole "water off a duck's back" mantra got old quickly, and that the narrative was strongly skewed to her benefit, she seemed disconnected from tonight's reunion. Her answers bordered on pageantry and read like a fully conscious play on her underdog narrative.
I wanted Alaska to win is because it would have been a big **** you to the Jinkx "underdog" narrative LOGO played up all season. If I wanted Jinkx to win, it would have been because she's fierce, not because they made her seem like a three legged puppy who despite adversity, managed to push through and stand proud. This is a drag show competition, not a children's book. I don't care about a determination conquers all narrative, I want quality performers winning because they the best in their field, not because gosh gee willickers, they tried oh so hard!
Jinkx is a fierce queen and they rendered her toothless with her stupid soft baby engine that could narrative.
In the end, I suppose I'm most disappointed because this finale was painfully predictable.
I mean, she's certainly not at the level of Raja or Sharon. But I'm not angry over her win. Jinkx did well this season. Not necessarily my pick to win though.
Alaska was a little more well-rounded and had a fully realized-character. Whereas Jinkx is still in training mode.
In a perfect world Detox would have won, but I'm happy with Jinkx winning. Overall I found her to be the most likable and talented of the Top 3. All she needs is a new glam squad like Honey Mahogany and she'll be unstoppable. I would have also been happy to see Alaska win.
And it was so nice to see that Roxxxy and Jinkx made up.

Even though her edit got old quick, at the end of the day, Jinkx slayed everyone else throughout the entire season. She spent weeks 3 through 10 being in the Top 3 for each challenge. Her one flounder throughout the whole competition was the final week, where there was only four girls left and she managed to give arguably one of the best lip syncs in the entire series. Alaska and Roxxxy may be more polished in their drag, but their not superstars. Jinkx has sold out shows across the nation, spending 8 sold-out dates for her Vaudevillians act in New York, when William + Detox + Vicky couldn't even sell out one. Alaska and Roxxxy are gonna stay doing drag forever, but Jinkx is the one queen who's most likely to branch out into other mediums. I'm telling you, bitch will be on Broadway.
Jinkx clearly didn't win because of her edit. She won because she was the best throughout the entire season. It's just a bonus that she's a lot more likeable than Alaska or Boxxxy.
ALSO.. Ru just tweeted that they begin taping Season 6 next month!! Does that mean we are getting it sooner?!
No, it always tapes in June and doesn't air until January.
She announced that Drag U has been cancelled, too, so they really need to come up with something Drag Race related for the summer and fall. Lord knows I'm not watching Logo otherwise.
