Both are great performers. Gaga does have the edge over Madonna when vocals and playing an instrument are involved and Madonna has a slight edge on dancing so both are on par with each other to me.

Both are great performers, I really can't chose. I like Gaga more though so I'll go with her. Gaga couldn't do this as good as Madonna though:

If you watch The Blond Ambition Tour, for example, and The Monster Ball Tour you'll see a
clear
difference.

If we're talking generally, Gaga's voice is obviously superior, but Madonna puts on better, more consistent performances.
If we're talking about those specific performances, I prefer Gaga's.
