This is a great point; I've never really thought of it that way.
I think I'ma pop open the file and watch it. Then I'll make the search for the book and start reading.
Because, yeah, I agree with your logic.
It's better to enjoy the movie and then enjoy the book even more, rather than to enjoy the book, and then feel like the movie didn't live up to your expectations.
