The performance took risks and was memorable unlike all her previous performances were she did the cute happy stuff. That **** went unappreciated and now that shes trying something different shes reductive?
If her performance was reductive then so is every single horror film ever created.
The weird thing is that Nicki is actually talented (she seemed like a breath of fresh at first when she stole all the songs on which she was featured) and there are little flashes of brilliance here and there (Monster)...which makes her current incarnation all the more disappointing.
I'm with the media and the GP on this one - it was definitely reductive and downright offensive. Whichever media source used the chef and kitchen analogy had it spot on.
There was no meaning behind any of that - hence why it was reductive compared to Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" performance at the VMAs; I think it's the beginning of the end for Miss Minaj.
