I think the real definition is, "The fear that your insecure with your own sexuality that you have to hate on other people's life, so people don't suspect anything, so hating is an easier way to be more "secure" with your true sexuality identity."

Cause honestly, have you met a gay man/woman who is hetereophobic?

It's just two people in love, if you honestly are that INSECURE with your sexuality, maybe you need to go get some therapy and understand who you are. I can understand if you are annoyed by the gay community, but hating them just because they are "gay"?

If you hate gay people, it just proves that obviously you are in denial with something in life, cause there is nothing to be afraid of if you are truely straight

I really don't understand these people's mentality to be honest. I don't know where they got the idea that another person's relationship has anything to do with them... In 50 years time gay marriage will be about as controversial as votes for women and these people will be ashamed of themselves

no i dont agree. im a homo and im afraid of some of them lol. when they're extremely flamboyant it does scare me. trannys scare me too. i cant help it. i just get scared.

I mostly agree, but I dont think that its insecurity that is always the issue. I think it is a majority of the time but sometimes it can genuinly be because they fear gay people, or sometimes cos they find it 'unusual', 'sick' ect.
I obviously love the gays though

I'm starting to believe that a major part of homophobia, at least among teenagers, is people throwing around the words ***/homo/queer just cause their friends use it and they see it all over the internet. They might not even have a problem with gay people, or have never even met one in their life.

In essence, peer pressure and sheer ignorance keep the cycle going. What the gay community needs is a representative who breaks the homosexual stereotype and people, gay or straight, can look up to. (And no, it's not GaGa ). They need their MLK to step up if they want to be accepted.

^I think Lady Gaga isn't the best candiate because of how she dresses and promotes her music. A lot of people can't stand her because of how she protrays herself.

We need a gay icon to stand up who doesn't fit the stereotype of what the "gay" culture represents from the closed minded people and show that we are all the same...on the inside.

the best role models for the end of homophobia would be straight men that straight people actually have a big respect for, especially singers, bands or the biggest names in sports, those would be the best to spread the word, not Lady Gaga or any of these gay icons because only liberal people look up to them and liberal people already accept the gays and of course, this all happened because of religion like all the evil in the world

I've lived around gay people when I was abroad and I'm totally okay with the gays. I don't understand why in so many countries, it's a sin to be gay. In the end, there are millions of gays, and they're all human. The world has to get used to it.
