Welcome, here we are at the end of 2016.
It is safe to say our dearly beloved, iTunes, is comparable to a permanent coma. Although it is technically still alive, it isn't really doing much.
Let us take a moment to pay our respects to the wonderful music service that revolutionized the consumption of music in the early 21st century. It made it so we could listen to our favorite tunes on our iPods (RIP those as well) and eventually on our iPhones anywhere we went at anytime. Although it killed album sales, it revitalized single sales to a height they had never reached before. ATRL's faves thrived on iTunes, and now, their careers our faltering as well since their savior has been dying a slow death.
Rest In Peace, iTunes. 2003-2016
Gone, but never forgotten.
P.S. It's time to wake up ATRL. Using iTunes as your main source of receipts for validating your faves success is biased and ineffective. I know we all don't want to admit it, but free streaming and advertisements isn't the future of music, it's the now of music. This is what you all asked for. This is what the industry pushed. Yikes.
