It was the viral sensation that swept the globe and attracted more mocking criticism than Princess Beatrice's pretzel hat. But Angelina Jolie's leg met its match at last night's Costume Institute Gala. Ladies and gentlemen, introducing Anja Rubik's hip.
The 28-year-old Polish 'super', currently starring as the face of Fendi and Elie Saab fragrances and the Karl by Karl Lagerfeld line, arrived at the Met Ball wearing a white silk Anthony Vaccarello gown which left little to the imagination.
But all eyes were on Rubik's protruding hip bone which made a bid for freedom - and solo stardom - jutting spectacularly out of the side of the model's dress.
The rogue limb was the talk of Twitter after Rubik hit the red carpet attracting ridicule and admiration in equal measure.
"Anja Rubik's hip just took my eye out" wrote @AnastasiaDuck; while @HuffPostStyle commented "We still can't get over Anja Rubik's dress: how was this NOT a wardrobe malfunction??"
Either way, the countdown has begun to Rubik's hip getting a Twitter account all of its own.
