TOP 5 TRACKS:
01. Only the Horses
02. **** Yeah
03. Let's Have a Kiki
04. Self Control
05. Baby Come Home
One of the best bands in this genre finally put out the sound I'm missing from them! While the album slays, I am a bit disappointed because I skip some tracks on this one but still I was impressed by their usual sound and amazing production! Jake Shears is still as vibrant as ever and it is evident here in this album and the amazing Ms Ana Matronic shows no pretention on being bloody brilliant on whatever she does and incorporates to the sound and music. Overall, this record is just amazing especially for night out chilling!

Wow, last year this was #93 and surprisingly it jumped a spot in this year in this position! lol. Anyways, this was the first #1 of this year's Best of list during its entire tracking period. I consider this song as one of Bruno's best vocally and one of my favorite singles of him as well. The live performances of this song are indeed a must hear and watch!
Last Year's #92: Pixie Lott - "What Do You Take Me For?" (feat. Pusha T) |
LANA DEL REY - "Summertime Sadness"

Weeks on Chart: 6 weeks
Peak Position: #03
Now, this is probably my favorite Lana del Rey song and video so far! but its not her last appearance yet! Since at first listen, I was just hooked on this song because it was gloomy and catchy at the same time! Anyways, the video was just so great and the concept is just stunning! Really adore the lesbian love portrayal and of course to fit the song, the infamous jump off bridge of Pasadena couldn't be more perfect for the suicidal theme!
Last Year's #91: Coldplay - "Paradise" |
FOSTER THE PEOPLE- "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)"
| "...I said uh-don't stop, don't stop, don't stop, Talkin' to me, Stop, don't stop, don't stop, Giving me things, Stop, don't stop, don't stop, Laughin' about it, Stop, don't stop, don't stop, Don't stop..."
Album: Torches

Length: 2:56
Label: Columbia, Startime
Writer(s): Mark Foster
Producer(s): Rich Costey, Mark Foster
Weeks on Chart: 10 weeks
Peak Position: #10
Probably one of the most weirdest and most interesting single/song I've heard this year! Whilst its not my favorite song on the album, it really grew on me despite its annoyingness and repetition but hey thanks to the amazing music video featuring Gabourey Sidibe of "Precious", it's definitely one of the best this year! Her smack kiss scene with Mark Foster was just BAM! the highlight of the video! Love it!
Last Year's #90: Britney Spears - "Criminal" |
RECAP: 125-123 | 122-120 | 119-117 | 116-114 | 113-111 | 110-108 | 107-105 | 104-102 | 101-99 | 98-96 | 95-93

Genres: Indie rock, alternative rock
Label: Fairfax, Universal Republic, Independent, Samples 'n' Seconds, Inertia, Lucky Number, Eleven

Another new entry on this list is Wally De Backer otherwise known as Gotye! Primarily, making this list is just due to his mega success with his single! And not only that, also his work as an artist, composer, and producer! I am really interested at his sound and his musical direction as well as his creative direction for his music videos. I'm really glad I discovered his music this year! For me, his sound is very reflective and I hope he doesnt change that for a bit cause I love the way it is
