15. Tegan And Sara - Heartthrob

Highlights: Closer, I Was a Fool, Love They Say, Shock to Your System

Heartthrob was the single most straightforward and concise pop album released in 2013. Tegan and Sara traded in their acoustic guitars and folk-pop sound for, as Pitchfork calls it, Roxette and Cyndi Lauper-referencing, soaring keyboards. It helps that Greg Kurstin is all over this album.

Also "Closer" is totally the pop song Katy Perry has been trying to make for years. Poor thing.

Tegan And Sara haven't heard the album in full yet, but Closer & I Was A Fool are great! Nice start

14. James Blake - Overgrown

Highlights: Retrograde, Overgrown, Voyeur

James Blake his sultry voice over smooth EDM backdrops. His voice is definitely the star of this album, but the production is only slightly less enticing. Also his cover of "A Case of You" is probably the best of all time. What a future legend.
