After lurking for several weeks inside the Top 3, "Starboy" finally dethrones Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj and sits comfortably at #1 of the PlatinumCharts. "Starboy" becomes his third chart topper after "Can't Feel My Face" and the 2015 Year-End #1 single "The Hills". The Weeknd was named artist of the year last year because of his massive success with his single releases, his collaborations and his debut album. "Starboy" is the lead single of the album with the same title and marks The Weeknd's powerful comeback to the industry.
Young Ariana Grande and the Queen of Rap Nicki Minaj drop to #2 after 2 weeks of reigning. "Side To Side" was reported to be the first single of both acts to Top the chart after years of effort and multiple Top 10 and Top 5 releases. Another artist who has appeared multiple times inside The Top 10 but never claimed the top spot is Lady Gaga. Her second "Joanne" single, "Million Reasons", now climbs even further. The song moves 4-3 and re-peaks. This week "Reasons" ties "Perfect Illusion", the lead single of the same album, which debuted and peaked there. Will she climb higher though?
After a long, long reign, "Closer" by The Chainsmokers and Halsey now drop out of the Top 3. The song peaked at #1 for five weeks and became the first Top 10 entry for both acts. Bruno Mars' "24k Magic" moves back to #5. The song is the debut single from the album of the same name. It has so far peaked at #5. Another chart topper, the 6-weeks-ruler, "Heathens", a song by twenty one pilots from the "Suicide Squad" movie drops to #6.
Hailee Steinfeld, Grey and Zedd are stable this week. "Starving", a single by the Oscar nominated singer and actress entered the top 10 two week ago. Drake, the ultimate king of 2016, gets another top 10 as "Fake Love" rises to #8. It's his sixth Top 10 including 3 #1s. James Arthur's "Say You Won't Let Go" drops to #9 and in the meantime, Maroon 5 and Kendrick Lamar claim another Top 10 as "Don't Wanna Know" enters the Top 10 at #10.

"Starboy" follows his #1 singles "The Hills" and "Can't Feel Myself" and its the lead single from his new album of the same title.
Lady Gaga fiercly rises once again and outpeaks the first "Joanne" single, "Perfect Illusion". With "Million Reasons" Gaga reaches her career peak for a second time following the #2 peaking single "Applause", a song that back in 2013 was blocked by Katy Perry's "Roar" in its debut week. Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj are now falling to #3 after spending two weeks at #1 with "Side To Side".
Rae Sremmurd debut high this week with "Black Beatles", a song that became popular because of the Mannequin challenge.
