21. Heroes

I honestly do not know how this didn't blow up. It's sooo catchy. I admit it's cheesy as can be but the chorus slays me soul. Her melismas are everything and more. It does sound a bit 2012 in some parts, but I think its production is strong for what it is (a dance bop). The drop is average though. We could be heeeeerooes, me and youuu has one of the best melodies I've heard in a while. The bridge isn't disappointing and it leads perfecting into the last chorus which has such a good beat.

22. Crave

One of the more interesting ones. I definitely dig this. It should have been in the standard. Everything is solid so far. The production, the lyrics (except the I love to make line, awkwardly worded), the melody, her voice. The chorus is great for once! It gets better the more I listen. Yes, ma'am! Her voice The breakdown in the bridge is also very nice unlike some of the other overproduced breakdowns in this record. It works on this one.

23. Not On Drugs (Ali Payami Remix)

I will not rate the other remix, sorry not sorry. Crave is a great high to end the album with.

Edit: the last remix was actually my favorite remix easily

Overall this is a very strong record. Her voice is constantly the highlight of the album, being able to pick up even the most bland melodies and elevating them enough to be enjoyable. The standard seems to tell a cohesive story and I think that's cool that it's basically split into 3 sections. I will definitely be listening to this a lot in the future. She might as well consider me a new fan. Lyrically, I think she has a cool style. It may not be poetry but it feels honest so good for her.

QOTC is kinda overrated. I like Tove Lo but the Truth Serum EP was definitely better. The album wasn't bad though. I'm yet to listen to the Blueprint edition or whatever it is called!

I'm thinking of doing a One Direction week where I listen to one of their albums every day for five days and review them. I've never really cared for them outside of two of their songs but one of their new songs has very lowkey slayed me so I think it'll be a cute idea.

It took me a bit to get over the weird spoken word verses but once I saw the light it became my favorite song on QOTC

I love the verses a lot but the chorus and instrumentation ruin Timebomb, at least on first listen. Who knows what my faves will be a year from now

Ok let's not get carried away here. It's great but it's definitely in the bottom half along with both versions of Stay High.

I didn't realise rhyming girl with world was a songwriting cliche. Also didn't realise that apparently they don't rhyme either Is it really that bad? It sounds fine in b0ps like American Girl, Your Girl, and Only Girl.

How did you not notice before? Probably the most overused near rhyme ever most of our faves have used it.
