Rated R is when Rihanna seperated herself from her pop/r&b contemporaries...she left em in the dust. The Ciara's and Ashanti's had no answer fo dat ****. She became "RIHANNA" on Rated R.

Russian Roulette was not in step with what was popular in music at that time...she released that single to make a statement.

Sure Rihanna has many, many great singles...but perhaps she just has a good ear for music, and it's trends, too.
