"I refuse to compromise and allow my talents to be monetized to the point that I don't want to be here anymore," she said. "I will stop, I will quit, I will retire from the commercial market if I have to do something other than be myself because if I can't be myself in this moment than everything I have said to my friends since the beginning will be a total lie. Then what? I'll be myself until I have to make money to sustain a luxurious lifestyle, and then I change, right? No, I'll be myself till they (expletive) close the coffin so that you can all be yourselves."
I remember it took time to get used to the album version (since she debuted the version with the faster chorus @ that runway show). But overall, It's one of my faves from BTW.
GH was like my favourite when the album came out. Now it's just not as impressive to me as it used to be. On the other hand, BM has become my favourite. Paying close attention to the lyrics was key.
Gaga has only had nice words to Interescope. Do you all really think they made her scrap a whole album?
I get the feeling the label rejected most of her hip-hop/trap stuff, and anything that seemed too musically outrageous. "Aura", "G.U.Y.", "ARTPOP", and "Mary Jane Holland" are probably the only EDM songs that made it out of the album that was presented to Interscope in September 2012, and even then "Aura" needed a name change before being accepted lbr.
