Simon would be stupid to not sign them. We saw during the first live shows that they were the group with the highest number of votes, and that was based all on social media.
SS has a huge fanbase already, but the problem is that their audience is younger...they'll tweet about them and trend their name easily but they wont pick up the phone and call to vote for them. also i believe a big chunk of their fanbase, just like 5H's, isn't American, so they arent able to vote. and due to their song choices, they havent really had a chance to appeal to an older crowd at all. i think a big reason why 5H stayed as long as they did was because they did a few ballads and their performances were laid back enough to appeal not only to young people.
and to the person who mentioned that they finished too low to be signed, Hollywood Records signed Beatrice Miller last year who only made it to 10th place so it's not impossible
