Just imagine how much she would accomplish if she actually cared about all that stuff. One of my favorite things about Kelly is how she doesn't really care about anything other than the music itself. She just wants to do well enough to keep her career going, that's all. It's just amazing she continues to do so well without really focusing on that aspect of her career.
Completely true. Kelly only wants to be successful so that she can still tour and release music she loves. That's what a lot of people don't get, If Kelly wanted to be the biggest pop star in the world, she would be. And she proved that with Breakaway. Kelly felt she had to prove that she can make it without American Idol and she did.
Sometimes it seems that some of y'all discredit Kelly's star power a lot. Kelly was one of the biggest and most talked about pop star in the 00s; American Idol, Success of Thankful, The domination of Breakaway, Kelly gaining weight for the first time, The constant feud surrounding My December, her comeback with All I Ever Wanted and the Ryan Tedder fiasco. Kelly was the 5th most successful Female artists of the 00s, behind Beyonce, Mariah, Britney and P!nk (a bigger success than Gaga, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift and Christina Aguilera). She changed the game with Since U Been Gone completely. Because of her people like Kesha and Katy Perry exist. Don't ever forget that!
Kelly doesn't have the star power when she was at her peak, but neither does the majority of all the artists out there. But besides everything Kelly was still able to do all of these things after her peak:
- Wining a grammy
- Brake a Hot 100 Billboard Record
- Create a billboard record for being the only artist to have a #1 on the HAC/AC/Radio/Dance/Pop/Country and hot 100 chart
- Having the most successful (sales wise) country collaboration in history
- Getting two #1 hits, two top 10's and three top 20's Billboard hot 100 hits
- Best Selling Christmas Record Of The Year
- Being able to go platinum in the US and WW with her studio album (with a lot of artists are failing to do)
- Singing for the inauguration
Kelly may not be Madonna but she is for ****'s sake not a underachiever.
I love this post. Hopefully Kelly will be able to bounce back after her pregnancy. I'm sure she knows she's going to have to do a lot if she wants to get back to touring for decent sized crowds.

Yes, David broke up with her to marry another woman. It was the inspiration behind the lyrics to Behind These Hazel Eyes and Never Again. And then it became the visual inspiration for the music video for Behind These Hazel Eyes, which I do thank David for because that music video is absolutely beautiful.

Who knows? Hopefully. She has a lot of friends among country artists so it's likely. If I'm not mistaken she's been working with Shane MacAnally and she is supposed to record Nashville's Fade Into You for her album. My personal opinion is that her country album won't be out until her new pop era (planned for late 2014) is over.
