For the Amsterdam show, I literally thought she sounded like a chipmunk for the whole show.
I thought there had been some mistake with the sound system that caused the pitch of her voice to increase significantly, but maybe that's what she actually sounds like and that was just the first time I ever noticed it.
No one else seemed to notice, so I'm not sure why it seemed so chipmunky to me.
Wait what
I mean she sounded a little higher, but that was cute high not like a chipmunk
At least that's not what I heard, but maybe that's just me
The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, Teenage Dream, I am Sasha Fierce, Beyonce, The E.N.D. by the Black Eyed Peas, all got nominated for AOTY. Major pop albums do get nominated in this category in recent years. I see no reason why 1989 won't get nominated at least.
I expect 1989 to be a front runner for AOTY. There are others that have a shot but everyone knows 1989 has dominated this period with album sales and single smashes too. All the other contenders will be worried about Taylor, not the other way around. Everyone acknowledges she is currently the dominant artist in the US music scene.
1989 will have sold more than 6 million copies in the US alone by the next Grammy's, three times the sales of Beyonce at the time it was nominated. Beyonce didn't win, but that album was regarded as the frontrunner by the bookies. And while 20/20 and MMLP2 sold similar amounts to Beyonce in 2013, 1989 sales will be WAY out in front of every other contender.
Also some of you are forgetting that the US music industry loves Taylor in general plus that has increased after the Apple letter ensured they all got paid. All those NARAS voters, they are producers, songwriters, artists and all of them are grateful to Taylor for using her position and sticking up for their rights as music creators. They all potentially benefited financially because of Taylor's letter. Billboard would make her their Woman of the Year just for that Apple Letter, if she already wasn't the reigning one.
1989 might not win AOTY, because she has won it before. Her winning it before only shows that the Grammy voters like her though. As we saw last year, the favourites don't always win. The Grammy's don't like Max Martin but he won a Grammy last year, so maybe this current crop of voters realise he had been snubbed and deserves rewarding at last.
The Grammy's often don't award AOTY to the favourite, just like last year. So nothing can be predicted. I think there is a strong case for 1989 to be considered a major contender though. I am not taking anything for granted. I just don't think that 1989 will be dismissed by the NARAS so easily in favour of other albums, like some of you seem to think. There are other contenders but I think Taylor will be in the reckoning too.
Taylor has already won a lot of acclaim from the Grammy's. I think there is a lot more to come.
Hello fellow disciples! I am so excited/thrilled to finally be here! I have stanned for Taylor since 2007, and I have been dying to join atrl since Shake it Off was released. All of you slay so hard, and I'm so excited to finally be here!

If 1989 wouldn't have been a pure pop album then with same amount of success, it would have been a front runner for AOTY. But being a pure pop, it loses that status. The Grammys tends to overlook pure pop albums (21 is not pure pop). Thats why Red had better odds than 1989 is currently having of winning AOTY. Grammys do not consider impact as a factor for awarding AOTY, so whether 1989 has had impact or not will not have any influence on NARAS.
Blank Space has a very good chance of winning SOTY. I don't think it will be nominated for ROTY. I am more concerned about what she will nominate in both these categories. Her overliking of Bad Blood (gurl, it isn't any special) has put serious doubt abt BS being even send for nomination in those categories.
She has already won Pop vocal album. Atleast she is not going empty handed next year

Honestly I was surprised that Bad Blood got nominated for Video of the Year at the VMAs and not Blank Space. Bad Blood's video was hyped to the max but Blank Space's video is iconic. I feel like she's more likely to win Pop vocal album than AOTY
