CLOSING REMARKS
Let's just pretend that this statement came a week ago!
I still remember hearing about Platinum Hit for the first time through a wall post in April of 2015. I was excited to try my hand at lyricism, something I had toyed with in the past, in a more consolidated venue. It was a great way for me to piece together all the thoughts that ran through my head on a daily basis and put to use some little snippets and lines that had crossed my mind over the years prior. It was such a validating and rewarding thing to see the success that I did over the course of the two seasons that I competed in. It made me feel like an artist again, and showed me another way of expressing myself that didn't require me to stand up on a stage and allow everyone to peer into my soul (something that to this day, I detest).
I still go through the day thinking about what I can write next, how I can express my heartbreak and general thoughts in a meaningful format, and without Platinum Hit, I really doubt I would have any interest or knowledge in turning them into something greater. I still have to make the next leap with my lyrics - you know, actually making them into songs - but for the time being, I'm comfortable with what I have.
Taking over this season was a fun task, and of course a daunting one. I wanted the new players to feel like I did coming into this game, seeing an actual community that had pretty care-free and open discussions about music, lyrics and our daily lives. And, of course, I wanted them to have fun experimenting and learning how to work with lyrics, make them read more than just what they say at face value, and how to think about their work as concepts. I loved seeing friendships blossom over the course of this season, both between others and with myself!
The work that I saw over the course of this season was really eye-opening and humbling. It was incredible to see how many people could so easily and naturally write. Platinum Hit has a tendency to appeal to egos and whatnot and being on the other side of the table definitely humbled mine. There's a lot more work that I need to do for myself, and I thank each and every one of the contestant's for showing me that.
I want to thank the judges this season for being such incredible co-workers and friends. The judge's chat is still so much fun to be a part of, and it's really wonderful being with others that share my same interests and passions. Y'all did incredible work this season, and I thank y'all for every decision you helped me make, as well as how smoothly y'all helped make this game run!
I've already said a lot, but I would like to close out by congratulating our finalists, as well as Citrus on an incredible game. Citrus, you're incredibly witty, smart, and friendly, and an inspiration to so many of us. I thank you so much for everything that you've contributed to this game! Congratulations once again! Of course, good luck to Pears in Diamond Hit, I'm sure it will be iconic!
Sam/Lynx/Aurora/Trash said last year that this game changed his life. It's kind of funny to think that a game on a Pop music forum could do that, but I am definitely one of those who agree. And after Season 9, I hope you are too!
THANK YOU!

Thanks for hosting a wonderful season, Temp! People really underestimate what a task it is to host this game, but you handled it so beautifully, it looked seamless. I bet it was a mess at times behind the scenes, but it's not like professionals don't run into messes - they're just quick to react and do their best to keep appearances up.
Also, I'm sure you'll get your Lifetime Achievement Grammy soon, or at least you should.

Hi, here's the application to judge for Diamond Hit! It's pretty short and simple, so feel free to fill one in and send it to me if you're interested in judging the season. If you're a past judge, you can just pm me saying you're interested instead
If you're not interested in judging but would want to mentor contestants, you can pm me about that also.
1. Have you judged any other ATRL games before? What is your history with Platinum Hit?
2. Judging can generally be quite time consuming of an activity and demanding as a role, do you have certain commitments that would interfere with your availability to judge in a timely manner between the end of November to the end of February / beginning of March? (factoring in a break over Christmas and New Year)
3. Tell me about your songwriting history so I can get a feel of you as a writer. (eg. how long have you been writing, who are your inspirations / influences, how would you describe your style, etc.)
4. What main criteria would you look for that makes a song great, and what issues concern you the most in making an entry bad?
5. What are your favourite and least favourite challenges?
6. If you would, please include a song you have written on your own, and critique it.
7. This season, I am introducing a number of mentors to the game as well, as to help the contestants one on one with their songs during the rounds in a way that the judges cannot. As such, I'm also looking for mentors too, and if you were to not make it as a judge, would you be interested in mentoring instead?
