The issue of the boy refusing to shake hands is sooo complex

I don't think forcing him is the way to go, but I do believe we should not strive for that in general

Relativism has its limits. if you think about it, female genital mutilation (removing a woman's ****oris) is endemic to some cultures but it should not under any circumstance be tolerated ever. It's cruel and barbaric.

Not meat per se, but proteins are vital and non-meat protein sources are not sufficient. If you're vegetarian/vegan for example, you'll need to eat a LOT of beans and quinoa to meet your daily protein intake requirement.

agree, nobody should be forced to shake hands, but his sole reason was that she was a woman, hence why he didn't want to shake her hands

and I agree, keep genital mutilation away if it's not needed for medical reasons... and they are not indeed needed for medical reasons

With that said it's not comparable at all to female mutilation. The penis works as usual, it's only slightly less sensitive. I wouldn't hold a grudge against my parents if I were cut.

There's just no physical proof that humans need to consume other animals for survival, it's really that simple. In fact, many studies have found that the average human body is better off without meat consumption (it's also better for animals and the environment, yayyy) and many observers have seen many babies puke the first time they have any type of meat (before they have it a couple of times and adapt to it) which is leaving wiggle room for future studies that may suggest that human beings are naturally vegetarians.

Mess. I got circumcised when I was a toddler

Aesthetically I think it's alright, but no child should be forced to have a sensitive part of their body cut because of religion.

Speaking of the Muslim boy, I do think a lot of members were misguided and prejudiced. Think about some Christian communities like the Amish here in America. They practice a very conservative form of Christianity and also are very icky about male-female relation yet no one goes crazy about bashing the Amish Because they're perceived as these white proper harmless people. But so many Muslims are also law abiding citizens who cares if they believe a man and a woman shouldn't touch? I find that belief outdated as an agnostic but I am over the phase where I just bash people's practices, as long as they don't harm anyone else.

Humans are omnivores. The angle I'm going for is that just cuz we can eat meat doesn't mean we should. Even if it takes pills to compensate for lack of nutrients, whats the big deal. I don't think there is anything morally wrong with milk or eggs though.
