What are record books besides a list of numbers? What truly matters is how the music makes people feel, how it connects to the audience and how it changes the industry. How many times do you say to yourself, "What should I listen to?" and answer "duh whatever sold the most".?

At the end of the day, no one will ever mention Britney or Taylor's record setting debuts aside from pop music historians. The GP has no clue about who had the biggest debut and I bet if they guessed they wouldn't guess right.

Well said. I'm a numbers person tho. I follow Box Office Numbers, Record Sales, Stats in sports, etc. Some people don't care. So you are right, some would likely guess wrong. Beyonce is on her way to becoming, if not already a Legend. I'm not disputing that. She's got record sales, grammy's, she's acted. etc. This is proof of that with what she is doing this album.
