I find that piano ballads are the most relaxing and peaceful type of music. The slow, beautiful notes, combined with soft vocals are the perfect mix of emotion and peacefulness. The lyrics tell a story which causes your mind to wander and get lost within the harmony.
I find this song to be very peaceful, the soft intro with piano followed by the quiet hypnotic drums all mixed with Paolo's signature raspy vocals are beautiful. The song itself is asking a loved one to lay with them and just hold eachother in their arms. I find the meaning of the song to be very beautiful and it makes me feel very relaxed everytime I listen to it.
This song is all about taking time with the people you love. I find the message to be very peaceful, life is too rushed, sometimes you need to take time to slow down and enjoy each moment you have. I find the song to be very mellow and an old-school blue's country sort of vibe, it's super relaxing and peaceful, all topped off with beautiful vocals and guitar playing.

Take a trip to LA ISLA BONITA, where you'll lie out on a peaceful beach with nothing but the sounds of the ocean waves and two men by the names of ALEJANDRO and FERNANDO, serving your every need. For me, peace is about relaxation and serenity, being able to find quiet while still enjoying yourself. As a latin man myself, I find I have a close connection to all things latin, so my song selection takes things that I love while tying it back to my heritage. Naturally, I chose three latin inspired songs sung by white women. It is not unheard of for people to go back to their roots to seek inner peace and with this trinity, I feel it takes me there. Lastly, all three songs recall the past and sometimes, it is nostalgia that can bring comfort, even if for just a bit.
If you're here for a trinity about world peace, this is not for you. Today, I'm gonna be a little bit selfish.
MADONNA | L A . I S L A . B O N I T A
If you're like me and don't have the patience to find paradise through meditation, flying there is another option. La Isla Bonita is about being in paradise and not wanting to leave. The warm weather and the beautiful people are all that you need here and with this song's soothing latin melody, what more could you possibly need?
ABBA | F E R N A N D O
La Isla Bonita isn't much fun without the men. While Alejandro is more of your sexy bad boy, Fernando is your loyal good guy that will do anything for you. This mellow ballad features drums, guitars and even a flute, creating a serene latin vibe that will all make you find peace in the arms of an olive skinned lover by a fire on the beach.
LADY GAGA | A L E J A N D R O
Screw Alejandro, this Fernando guy sounds like quite the hunk if both ABBA and GAGA are singing about him. All jokes aside, this song is a bit more of an unlikely candidate for peaceful songs as it is a bit more upbeat than the other two songs. Still, it's haunting latin melody and theme are enough to entrance the listener and make them seek utopia.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World- Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
A lot of people would say one of the most peaceful places on the planet is laying on the beach, listening to the ocean waves in the background. That's why the first song in my trinity transports us to Hawaii with Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's cover of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World". On top of the ukulele instrumental resides the iconic lyrics of a peaceful place that is just barely out of sight. The added lyrics from Louis Armstrong's equally as iconic song just add on to the peaceful, perfection world that could be.
Heaven- Brett Dennen
"Heaven" creates a similar picture to "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" in the opening lines of first verse. There's no color lines cast or classes
There's no fooling the masses
Whatever faith you practice
Whatever you believe
It's a more specific version of "Somewhere", sure, but the lyrics hit home, and exude the theme of peace. I'm going to let the song itself speak on this one.
We All Want Love- Rihanna
This isn't a song that would typically come to mind when people think of "peace", but the unification that Ester Dean Rihanna makes in the chorus of this love song creates a nice image of the similarities everyone in the world has. It makes us think of others as humans and not enemies, because We All Want Love.

Peace is an emotion that is not easily achieved or defined. Though simply stated, peace is a complete feeling of serenity and happiness, there are many different kinds of peace; internal peace, peace of mind, peace between you and the people in your life, and even the seemingly unattainable world peace. Similarly, peace manifests itself in many different ways. This trinity is a progression through the various types of peace and how those feelings impact how you act, think, and feel about the world around you. (Click on pictures for songs)
⇒" I’ve seen the sunset on the beach, yeah, it makes me feel calm"
The first (and perhaps most important) kind of peace is internal peace. In this song, Jason Mraz uses his smooth "coffee-shop-crooner" voice to illustrate the idea that once one if truly happy and fulfilled with their life, they'll achieve peace of mind. By singing lyrics like "When I feel good, I sing, and the joy it brings me makes me feel good", Mraz suggests that internal peace is a cycle. Once you achieve it, it'll help you to see the world in a more positive light, which in turn, will bring you more internal peace. Though calm and soothing, "Freedom Song" is a testament to the euphoria one feels when they're truly at peace with themselves despite their own flaws.
⇒"And the violence caused such silence, who are we mistaken?"
When you think of peace, "Zombie" might be one of the last songs that pops into your mind. This acoustic version of the song highlights lead singer Dolores O'Riordan's haunting and hypnotizing vocals. However, the message of the song is far more important than any of its sonic elements. In this song, The Cranberries are crying out a desperate plea for peace. This is commonly the next step after one has achieved internal peace; desperately seeking peace for everyone in the world. The lyrics in this track cry out for liberation from the many negative influences of the world around us, and for hopes for peace in the future.
⇒"No need for greed or hunger, a brotherhood of man; imagine all the people sharing all the world"
John Lennon's classic song "Imagine" is the quintessential peace track. After a person realizes that the desperation for immediate peace expressed in The Cranberries' "Zombie" is unrealistic, that person will probably turn to a more passive view of peace. This song suggests that simply "imagining" the world is united as one can lead to us accepting the differences between each other. Lennon implies that peace among one another won't come from any drastic action, but rather by not being judgmental, hateful, or prejudiced.
Peace is not something that can simply be defined by words. These three songs, however, take you on a journey through the emotions and actions associated with peace. Each song lyrically shows a different aspect of "peace" while retaining a serene and mellow sound.

''Come Into My World'' - Kylie Minogue
The message of this song represents peace very well. She's telling someone or something to come into her world and unite together in a symphony of love and bliss (disregard how cheesy this sounds, it sounded better in my head, regardless my point still stands!). Even though it's directed at one person (or I assume it is), it can be applied to countless situations that require a union between 2 people or entities. It's peaceful simply because I feel like it reinforces the need to just kindly invite someone or something to come into our world and see something through our eyes or experience it in a different way. God knows how many wars and tragedies could be avoided if people or countries did just that! And that's really why I chose this song! It may seem like it's just another one-dimensional song about love, but it really does spread a message of peace and unity.
''Don't Hang Up'' - Britney Spears
I chose this song based simply on the meditational and relaxation purposes that it encloses. We all have that one song that you can listen to over and over laying down in your bed staring at the roof (at least that's what I do ) and it just makes you feel good and peaceful. The soothing vocals and the fantastic, subtle production add to this aforementioned effect. I suppose the actual lyrics of the song allude to sensation as well since I feel like Britney herself in this track also feels peaceful and relaxed.
"Love Into The Light" - Ke$ha
I chose this song because I figured a trinity about peace couldn't be deprived of an anthem simply about love. Admittedly, there are a lot of those but this one is my favorite. I like the fact that the production is very stripped down and that forces you to listen to the lyrics and the message of the song. There are plenty of songs with messages that can be related to peace but the message becomes overshadowed by heavy dance beats or an intense production but that's not the case with "Love Into The Light." Not to mention, I think it really stands out from the rest of Ke$ha's songs and the anthemic feel really adds a lot to the quality of this track.

P.S. I realize that I had a previous trinity that consisted of 3 pop girls [Odd Trinity] but it got me into the Golden Trinity that time so there's no harm in giving it another go.

borntodie's "peace" trinity
What could be more perfect as an introduction to my trinity as an actual intro. It's 'only' an instrumental track, but that's exactly what I love about it. There are no vocals distracting you from taking the music all in, and the way the music slowly builds up over the repeating hook it creates something like a peaceful trance.
Intro by The xx
Continuing into the electronic direction, this upbeat tune always takes my mind to a completely different, unearthly place. Especially together with the video, it makes me feel like I'm floating and can escape everything that's holding me down.
Midnight City by M83
Closing this off with an acoustic song that is incredibly peaceful to me and just makes me feel content. Whenever I worry about something, I listen to it and I get that feeling that everything is gonna sort itself out somehow and things will be okay, because it's all relative.
It's All Understood by Jack Johnson
Luigi
Unity
To start off my Peace trinity, I chose a more upbeat song: "Reach Out and Touch" by Diana Ross. The song has a very happy and joyous tone as Diana encourages the listener to make the world a better place. Like the phrase goes, "If you see someone without a smile, give them yours." The song just makes you want to go outside and hold hands with a bunch of strangers while singing the song. The reason I chose this for the peace trinity was obviously because of its message. Diana sings about unity and bringing the world together.
Serenity
For the next song of my trinity, I chose a song of the same genre of "Reach Out and Touch," but instead of being upbeat, the song I selected is a ballad. The second song of my trinity is "Loving You" by Minnie Riperton. Minnie sings about her perfect lover, how much he really means to her, and how his love affects her. Whenever I listen to the song, I feel incredibly calm and relaxed. From the chirping songbirds, to Minnie's soothing vocals, the entire song has a feeling of tranquility.
Relaxation
The last song for my trinity is more of a slower song, just like "Loving You." The final song of my trinity is "Only Time" by Enya. The song has a bittersweet message as Enya sings about how no one but time can predict the future. Everything in your life will eventually change, but it's not up to you to decide. Though Enya's vocals seem to be a bit eerie, there's something of a relaxing quality to it, too. The same thing goes for the production: it's a strange combination of eeriness and relaxation.
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
It's all right, it's all right
Here Come the Sun
by THE BEATLES
Let's start with one of the Beatles best songs. Here Comes the Sun was written at a very troubled time for George Harrison. He wrote it when he was finally at peace with everything, when he was at peace with his life. "Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces. Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here." is sung about how a new bright day is coming and everything is going to be good after everything thus, finally finding peace with your future.
Where Is The Love?
by BLACK EYED PEAS
This song is definitely one of the Black Eyed Peas' best songs, sonically and lyrically. It's an anti-war song, asking about the love that disappeared in the midst of all the fighting. The song also focuses on addressing subjects like terrorism and racism. The honesty of the song is very vibrant and shines through the song. "Can you practice what you preach and would you turn the other cheek?" is a great example of how a lot of contradicting statements are being said when people call for peace and justice when pain and suffering is all they get. So we can finally finding peace with the world.
Where Is the Love?
What's wrong with the world, mama
People livin' like they ain't got no mamas
I think the whole world addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma
Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin'
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah
Madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all
People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practise what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek
Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love (The love)
Where is the love, the love, the love
It just ain't the same, old ways have changed
New days are strange, is the world insane?
If love and peace are so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong?
Nations droppin' bombs
Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones
With ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young
So ask yourself is the lovin' really gone
So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong
In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin' in
Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends
Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother
A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover
The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug
If you never know truth then you never know love
Where's the love, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the truth, y'all, come on (I don't know)
Where's the love, y'all
People killin', people dyin'
Children hurt and you hear them cryin'
Can you practise what you preach
And would you turn the other cheek
Father, Father, Father help us
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love (Love)
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love (The love)?
Where is the love, the love, the love?
I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us followin' the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema
Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love we're spreading animosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep my faith alive 'til love is found
Now ask yourself
Where is the love?
Where is the love?
Where is the love?
Where is the love?
Father, Father, Father, help us
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questionin'
Where is the love?
Sing with me y'all:
One world, one world (We only got)
One world, one world (That's all we got)
One world, one world
And something's wrong with it (Yeah)
Something's wrong with it (Yeah)
Something's wrong with the wo-wo-world, yeah
We only got
(One world, one world)
That's all we got
(One world, one world)
Sky Fits Heaven
Sky fits heaven so fly it
That's what the prophet said to me
Child fits mother so hold your baby tight
That's what my future could see
Fate fits karma so use it
That's what the wise man said to me
Love fits virtue so hold on to the light
That's what our future will be
[Chorus:]
Traveling down this road
Watching the signs as I go
I think I'll follow the sun
Isn't everyone just
Traveling down their own road
Watching the signs as they go
I think I'll follow my heart
It's a very good place to start
Traveling down my own road
Watching the signs as I go
Traveling down my own road
And I'm watching the signs as they go
Traveling, traveling
Watching the signs as I go
Hand fits giving so do it
That's what the Gospel said to me
Life fits living so let your judgments go
That's how our future should be
[chorus]
Traveling down my own road
Watching the signs as they go
Traveling down my own road
And I'm watching the signs as I go
Traveling, traveling
Watching the signs as I go
Sky Fits Heaven
by MADONNA
Ray of Light is probably one of the most diverse pop albums you can ever hear. The spiritual sound and message behind it is definitely something that can captivate you. Sky Fits Heaven is definitely one of the higlights of the whole album. The song talks about finding yourself and taking your own road but also by finding peace within yourself. The song preaches the good will and with lyrics like "Hand fits giving so do it, that's what the Gospel said to me", it shows how it the song encourages being a better and more peaceful person which leads to finally finding peace with yourself

The Peace Trinity
Quote:
Peace, in all of it's forms, is a delicate word. It defines the nonwarring, tranqulity of a person or a place. Yet, being at peace may be different for many people. You can make peace with your inner self, make peace with other people, or try to make peace at a global scale. It's only one word, but it's power is huge and can be felt through different cultures, language barriers, and even generation. To try to touch on peace in all of its glorious molds, it is necessary to include songs of peace about one's inner enigma, peace with another person, and peace on a global scale and across multiple decades.
In This Life
Quote:
Madonna softly sings about her two very best friends long ago. They both had AIDS (an epidemic in that time) and died at age 21. She was distraught and dedicated this song to them both, and to people who are either living with the disease or people who know others with it. She is making peace within herself because her soul is aching and she needs to soothe it, it is what her friends would have wanted if they were still here. She is also promoting the peace of everyone else who can understand her song on a personal level, a true genius
The Edge of Glory
Quote:
A song about Gaga's late Grandfather, The Edge of Glory is about making peace with her grandfather before his passing. She sings about the end of life, being on the "edge of glory" and is trying to be happy until the very last moment when everything is over. It's a song that causes ruptures in your psyche, but it's so peaceful that you cannot help but feel euphoric feelings, even if you dislike the song.
Somewhere Over The Rainbow
Quote:
This trinity closes on a good note, something you would expect about songs with peace. The first song is a very melancholic song that was peaceful, then the trinity upgraded the sound to something you can dance to but still felt the peace piece the air. Now it ends with a song that you can hold each other's hands for, form a prayer circle, and just feel the peace quiver through your docile bodies. A cover of Judy Garland's single in the 50s, this is neither about the self or one other person like the previous, but rather the whole world. If everyone together makes peace, stops pointless bickering, and forgives the past, then over that rainbow is a paradise that's waiting to happen.
