Pop sensation Justin Bieber has one entry in my top 50 and this is That Should Be Me. Justin even reworked on this song by having country group Rascal Flatts as the featured artist. That Should Be Me is one of the songs I like from the My World 2.0 album. Such a sad song which is about wishing you were the one who is making your love interest happy instead of seeing them on the arms of another. I know Justin Bieber doesn’t have the best vocals but his charm is his weapon. I never knew this one will still be a hit from him but it proved me wrong. What better way to have a good 2011 is by upgrading his image and deviating from the Baby hair-style look which he is famous for. Justin Bieber will be here in the next couple of years, he still have his fans that will support him no matter what. I’m not here as a desperate fan but if he provide us with good quality music, I’m definitely here for that.

Finally, the best song on Beyonce’s latest record 4 appears on the list. Yes, Love On Top is definitely my favorite song from that album that’s why it made it this high. At first, I was hesitant which should I place higher between this one and Best Thing I Never Had, and I made the right decision that I will not regret by choosing Love On Top. I have come to love this song thanks to her VMA performance. From then on, this song managed to catapult to the top 20 in the Billboard Hot 100. Love On Top is flawless from beginning to end; I love the 80’s vibe and accompanied by a beautiful lyrics. I so adore the music video especially the first part; from Beyonce’s facial expressions up to the choreography is simply amazing. It could’ve been so epic if the second part wasn’t removed. I will always remember the 4 era with Love On Top. It never fails to put a smile on my face whenever I listen to it.

It seems that Lady Gaga appears on every other update in my list and this time it’s with the beautiful The Edge Of Glory. It took me a few spins to love this song. The saxophone accompanied track is probably the favorite song of the majority here and I could not contest to that. Gaga explained that The Edge Of Glory is about one's final moments on earth, before a person dies and this is dedicated to her late grandfather who passed away. The music video for this song is ok, I was a little surprised Gaga only provided us with a simple video unlike the other outrageous one. Perhaps it’s because this is a special song to her. As for the success of this as a single, it really performed well in the charts. It peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and had enough longetivity. This is one song that I will remember and adore on Born This Way, such a perfect album closer and I bet you all agree with me.

One of the highlights of last year is having a new act smash to the music scene with a phenomenal song, and that’s what Foster The People had experienced. I seldom doubt any new acts especially rock bands and ignore their music. Last year, Foster The People withstand my criticism and managed to provide us with a summer anthem that will be remembered for the year 2011. Pumped Up Kicks is a grower to me, I slowly liked the 60’s vibe of the tune plus the whistle part of the song. Lead vocalist Mark Foster flawlessly nailed this track from the beginning to the end. He stated that this song brings awareness to the issue of gun violence amongst youth, which he feels is an epidemic perpetuated by lack of family, lack of love, and isolation. Despite the dark message of the song, it was delivered in a fun upbeat tune making it so friendly in the radios. So far, Foster The People had Pumped Up Kicks as their smash hit. Their latest singles are coming to follow the lead single and let’s hope they won’t be a one hit wonder.
