The student protesters threw smoke bombs into the metro this morning. I support the cause but this is getting excessive.

lol EOA...got you there!!!
Patri, I just heard about the smoke bombs now and was wondering about you!
Can I also just say, in light of the other new groups, I'm so glad we are able to have nice, meaningful discussions in here without having to resort to weird alteregos or characters

I will say yes.
Now tell me: is this ATRL award Best Poster of the Year thing decided by votes? If so, you've got mine. I've long felt you are the epitome of what an ATRL member should be.

....definitely Owl out of those 4! I don't think it should be a mod, and Owl hasn't had to pose in his boxers to get my attention. (joking just in case you're 20 Jonny...)
I've not been here too long, so I'll vote for everyone who's in 20+. Including KyKy for We Wish You Would Leave.

No. In my opinion you've found the perfect balance...wildly funny without going too far into annoying territory. The majority of other members come across as trying too hard, which reads more annoying than humorous. Your posts are unique and instantly recognizable. You do your own thing, and it works.

I was at home, but I got a panicked call from my sister's co-worker asking of I'd heard from her cause she hadn't shown up to work. She was stuck in the metro without reception but I still freaked out till she called me back :/

That's crazy. I mean, I get the point of contention with tuition...but acts like that seem a little drastic and dangerous, no?
IN OTHER NEWS: We are approaching 2,000 posts in here! Seems like just the other day we celebrated 1,000 posts, but thanks to some new members, and increased posting by the regulars, we've now doubled it! Given that we are all older members here, I'm making our 2,000 post celebration Y2K themed, since we are all old enough to remember the silliness that was Y2K! Crazy to think that the 16 year old posters were 4 years old when it all went down...we, however, were older kids and likely have some memories of it...
Share your stories! Did you think the world was gonna end? Will our thread self destruct as we hit our very own Y2K???

I totally remember Y2K. I distinctly remember a friend looking at me like "No one survives for a thousand years". Reflecting on that statement, it really didn't make any sense but I completely believe it as a child. Haha.
ETA:
I need your guys' help.
My boyfriend, who's absolutely amazing, is not the best at oral. He tends to use his teeth (although not intentionally) when giving oral, and it really hurts at times. At other times, he's great but I would say a good 60-70% of him giving oral is somewhat painful. I tried encouraging aspects of the oral I like (like tongue) and he tended to use his teeth a lot less during this period, but recently it's back to normal. In fact yesterday, we were pretty rough and he ended up cutting my penis a bit with his teeth (which clearly hurt). I do try and make my pain explicit when he does use teeth and he apologizes and continues, but then uses his teeth again. I did bring up that he uses teeth, and it feels good at times but I couldn't say anything bad.
I don't know what to do. This isn't a deal breaker by any means, but I honestly don't want to be in pain anymore!

Lol.. the only thing I knew about reaching the year 2000 was that the computers and what not would have trouble... but never really knew people were predicting the end of the world ...
unless I am confused? I mean I was in aruba during the time so these kinds of stuff doesn't really travel well over there!

TELL HIM! Tell him when he uses teeth - immediately, so he knows what and when he's doing it wrong. If not he won't improve. It's normal to occasionally make mistakes but yeah you gotta tell him.

I do make it explicit when he uses teeth, so he knows that he's doing it. But it doesn't seem to be helping all that much.

Well, I am pretty awesome at it. Haha. But I don't want to hurt his feelings by saying "I want you to do it like this".

Sometimes, people will just be never be good in oral. My boyfriend can't give me good oral, and I am not sure if its because I am uncircumcised, or because he just isn't good, but I never really get much pleasure with oral.
With you though, I guess kinda remind him whats good and whats not. My boyfriend always lets me know that he loves getting his balls tugged. Just let him know what you like, remind him with lips over the teeth. Tbh though, oral is hard work and I can never give it for a long time. Plus there is a certain need of concentration because if you lack concentration, mistakes will happen..

Yeah, they're not backing down. The media is getting sensationalist about it though calling it an act of terrorism. The mayor's also getting a lot of flack because in a press conference, instead of saying there would be increased police presence or similar measures, all he said was "well families should talk to their children and remind them that this stuff isn't good".
As for Y2K, I remember my sister's English teacher telling her just before Christmas break that she was a fool for thinking it wasn't going to happen.
