What video y'all talking about with the added in vocals? The messiest one from the 90s I can remember is when she went back to her high school wearing that green leather outfit. During the end of Take a Look at me now, she starts the breakdown at the end, turns around, then the studio vocal plays. Then she turns around and acts like she's singing "that's the chance I gotta take aaaaa aaaake yeah"! Even then I was like girl you tried it.

Wait, and "Honey" only reached #10 on Pop Songs and "Heartbreaker" only reached #21 (G.U.Y.-sized flop) on pop radio "Thank God I Found You" reached #28 on Pop Songs And these were #1 hits I don't understand this.

1. They waited until it peaked and released it physically, and had a huge debut in sales which is why it only went #1 for like 1 or 2 weeks.
2. Butterfly / Rainbow was messy, because her label refused to release stuff correctly. "Butterfly" peaked at #16 on Airplay, and was never even released. ("My All" peaked at #15 on Airplay as a single in comparison).
They only released 2 singles properly from each era; all 4 went #1. She could've passed The Beatles in #1's if those eras had been done right, they purposely didn't block "Loverboy".
Essentially Mariah did not have a major hit on pop radio from 1995 to 2005, what the hell How did she keep selling albums and how did her singles go #1? What kind of messiness is going on here?

Honey did well on radio. It wasn't a massive Pop hit, it was more Urban, especially with the remix featuring Bad Boy. It did still go Top 10 on pop, so it had crossover appeal. Same deal with Heartbreaker, which did do well on pop iirc, just not that massive on top 40 radio. TGIFY... I have no clue. I don't know how that song went #1. I LOVE "Honey" and "My All" and a lot of those songs but no wonder so many people drag Mariah for having forgettable #1 singles when a lot them were not radio hits

TGIFY reached like #15 on Airplay, then they finally put in store and it sold like 130k first week (when physicals at the point did around half weekly for #1 in sales) and went #1 for a week.
1997-2001 was essentially her waiting until Airplay peaked, and then release with sales for a huge peak instead of a even'd out chart-run she would peak within her first weeks. It was moreso that than discounting. Had TGIFY been on sale the whole time of it's radio run, it'd peak Top 10.
Even Fantasy, and OSD debuted at #1 due to them releasing when Airplay was #1. "Always Be My Baby" debuted #2. They were just able to sustain longevity due to not having flop airplay like the Butterfly / Rainbow singles.
Hmmm.. Looking back at Mariah's R&B Airplay.. I'm surprised.
