I still don't think there's any cause for concern over a summer launch.
She can drop the lead single in June and second single in September alongside the album. That way;
1. Summer smash single. If it's a club anthem, best release it when people are in the clubs.
2. VMA comeback as major promo platform for album (and single/s).
3. Avoids terrible summer album sales and arrives just before the Christmas sales surge, which should pick things up after front-loaded success.
4. Gives two singles the 'potentially debut at #1' fan support, and hits wins skeptics back.
5. Lead single is eligible for VMAs and album is eligible for Grammys.*
6. Rehearsing/shooting video aside, she won't need to perform until the VMAs. 6 months from now.
7. That said, if she does do Glastonbury...she'll want a single out in June.
8. If Tony x Gaga is being recorded this summer, it'll probably be out in Q4 (ideal) and they won't want to launch two albums too close together - even if one is a side project.
9. Terry x Gaga docufilm will be good single/pre-album promo in summer, Machete Kills and possibly Sin City 2 will be good second single/album promo in September/October.
Note: this is all presuming that recovery goes well. I don't think they'll drop original plans until it's clear they need to.
* They'll want that so the VMA comeback is met with wins (builds "she's back on top" hype) and ARTPOP has a good shot at doing well at the Grammys (less competition and safer bet than an "EDM" album competing in 2015). Plus, they wouldn't want to have the Tony x Gaga album competing for nominations with ARTPOP in the same year. I dare say from a tactical point of view, they want to spread out nominations across 2014/2015 to boost chances.

This seems like a perfect plan so we know she won't follow it.

I'll be glad to see it all turning out this way, but there is a mistake here - if she releases the 1st single in June she won't get any VMA nominations. The video must be out before mid June to be eligible.

Just shimmy it forward, then. Actually works out better because it'll give the lead more time to earn it's wins.
I hope the video arrives only a week or so after the single is released so it can grow with the songs popularity, not just turn up weeks later.
What kind of 'Monsters' have I surrounded myself with, only liking Paparazzi now/much later
I do have to admit I've started listening to other pop girls more whereas previously I was unable to enjoy music by any of the other pop girls and I only listened to Gaga Still six months to go
