Don't you think "Respect" would've been another smash by P!nk if she released it as the last single from M!ssundaztood?

She could still go there IMO

I mean forget the music but like the lyrics and her relatability?
I think 1 thing that P!nk keeps doing consistantly well besides being successful she keep writing relatale songs about real issues.
Anyways I just wanted to know if you guys also fell in love with her lyrics and relatability first than the music maybe (I know her music is amazing and super catchy but still)

well, the first time i heard her and when i fell in love with her was cause of there you go: the music and her voice and the video. there you go just had me in an instant. i didn't understand much of the lyrics the first time around cause i was mesmerized by this white pink haired rnb girl driving her motorcycle into her ex-bf's apartment
then i got the CD and there were just so many more layers to her and different messages in her lyrics. split personality, is it love, stop falling, do what u do, etc. just all were great bops with lyrics that resonated...
and then came m!ssundaztood and i fell even more in love with her. that is the album that joins fantastic lyrics and amazing music with her incredible voice the best IMO. that's when i knew, and everybody else, that she's amazing at writing lyrics.

When I started liking her she wasn't very successful in the US (and I was a Britney stan for 8+2 years) - it was the IND era. But I was so blown away by her lyrics - the metaphorical I'm Not Dead; the obnoxious Cuz' I Can; the introspective Dear Mr President... she was so different from Britney, who mostly sang about clubbing and partying.
And then I saw her perform GTPS/Sweet Dreams - my jaw just dropped. And it stayed there. I had never seen anything like that before. I was going around and showing my friends on my iPod the performance.
Another thing I love about her is her sense of humor. She is so funny and so charismatic. People know me as the funny guy --I don't always laugh at people's jokes though-- but she makes me laugh so hard.
And in recent years I love her because she keeps taking her performances to the next level. She keeps challenging herself (though sadly I agree not in her music) and I see that as an inspiration

Which song helped you through really tough times the most? She has a long list of personal songs, so I'm sure all of us has that special track.
Mine is probably Family Portrait. I remember crying at it on my bed so I didn't hear my mum/dad shouting downstairs. That song healed scars I wasn't even aware of at that time, not just dealing with the divorce but dealing with my jerk father. And I grew up and I completely stopped listening to it because it did its purpose - I could move on. Although I remember when she started singing it in Munich in 2012, and she sounded so painful and heartbreaking, I even started crying (which I almost never do). It was a beautiful moment and then I realized how much that song helped me out back then. I was thinking about writing a letter to her and telling her all this stuff but idk. That would be a long ass letter for sure.

Agreed. But as long as she ditches her electro synths (and swear words and stupid lyrics) I'd be happy.

I was watching the TRY performance, MV and Behind the Scenes video the other day. I was so touched by the passion she pours into her work. She was sputtering and choking because of the dust; she was bruised from the rehearsals.
And on the other hand you have artistes who can't sing or dance or possess any discernible talent and people still idolize them. It just made me so proud to wear my P!nk stan badge.

^^ For me, it was I Don't Believe You. I bought her greatest hits in 2011 and that particular year was very tough for me. And I would listen to that song over and over again. The pain in her voice really got to me.

Awww... I heard her sing the song at the Funhouse Tour but I didn't feel anything. However, she did perform it at the earlier TTAL US dates and I was at the LA show, all alone. The backdrop was her family photos. Good lord I bawled like a baby.
It's weird because while I love P!nk to death I don't really have one song of hers that I connect to. My "sad family" song is Kelly Clarkson's Because of You, that one is my life story. I have never done drugs so....
But if I have to pick one I'd say Perfect. That one again I bawled like a baby when I heard it live the first time. It was my religious moment. "Mistreated, misplaced, misunderstood... mistaken, always second-guessing, underestimated, look I'm still around" - basically again my life story.
Ok, let me go and cry now.

For me it's Runaway and Nobody Knows. it may sound a bit cliché, but I really felt like that during the time when IND was released. For me, Runaway>>>Family Portrait.
I was very misunderstood during high school, had conflicts with my parents every single day, fighting with stupid society and their stupid norms, arguing with people in my class in high school. I was going to school and singing: Life don't make any sense to me. I remember when my friend caught me singing it. She was shocked and told me to look for a help. I even planned to runaway from home, but I guess I didn't have the guts to do it. I had a crush on some guy from high school, but I have never told him. He moved in the 2nd year to other class , and when I saw him again after few months he forgot my name (And the road to darkness has a way of always knowing my name). I haven't seen him for 4-5 years now. And so on...I could talk the whole day.
IND just came during that part of my life that was painful, sometimes joyful, often sad. But, I guess I'm not the only one. And when I look back now, I'm glad it all actually happened that way, cuz it helped me to be stronger, be a better person, have more understanding for others, follow my goals and dreams no matter what other people say. Thank You, P!nk!

lonely girl. but actually all of missundaztood. when i feel down, i listen to 18 wheeler to get me going. when i just wanna go away and leave everything behind, i listen to gone to california. i listen to misery when love just walked out the door again. when i feel that nobody really understands me, i listen to the title track and it makes it all okay again. that whole album just clicks.
but lonely girl holds a special place in my heart. don't wanna get much into it, but i wanna hear it live one day and just cry cry cry...

Urgh this is beautiful and sad at the same time. I guess most of us found her either during M!ss or IND when we were also lost souls just like her. I'm glad you feel better now.

This page...
Mostly the same for me but my song was Just Like a Pill when I was 14 or 15. I grew up with her but my life was mostly stable after those hellish years but man, where I can run... to the middle of nowhere just made so much sense back then.

It's really hard to find the words and explain all the things I found in her music. Like, she was really there when no one else was. And I'm grateful for that. That's why I'll support her always no matter what.
