I just treat it as a scale. 0's are my least favorite while 10's are my most favorite.

That doesn't necessarily mean that 0's have no redeeming qualities or that 10's are 100% perfect.

Last rate people were fairly good about using the scale. Almost everyone gave 10's and 0's (though some people treated 1 as the low score instead of 10).
