so naturally, it makes sense that they didn't put out a massive single for the "test run"... it would've sucked if nobody knew she had returned to music and a potentially amazing song would've been "wasted"... I'm certain that her 2nd single is probably going to be HUGEMONGUS!!!! like I can't even chew my gum rite now huge.
luckily... her comeback has been very freaking strong. I'm SOOOO glad that there's people out there that actually support her 100%... her video is full of positive comments.
ugh... I'm so proud of her comeback she deserves to be huge again.

I agree! They must be going with the kind of grower sleeper hit first, to slowly ease Hilary back into the pop world and remind people about her and give them a chance to find out she's making music again. THEN release the huge smash single.
RCA has done this kind of tactic with Kelly Clarkson a few times. In 2004, "Breakaway" was the first single (kind of) and slowly grew in popularity and went up the charts. Finally after weeks it peaked. Then, when Kelly's name was fresh in everyone's mind, the anthemic smash that is "Since U Been Gone" exploded, and the rest of the Breakaway era was flawless. They did the same thing in 2011 - "Mr. Know It All" was a mid-tempo sleeper hit, and then BAM: They released "What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)" and she smashed.
I think this general tactic could work well for Hilary, especially after so many years gone.
