I know that most people probably won't agree with me here but...I honestly, don't think that Since U Been Gone would have been the hit that it was without Breakaway in the U.S.

As much as I don't really like the song, Breakaway kind of got the whole success going. Back in 2005, Kelly was the top female Pop singer...it started with Breakaway. Kelly released the album right after 2 huge flops(Low & The Trouble With Love Is) People were actually saying that Kelly's career was already over and that she would be forgotten. Breakaway ended up a huge success and without it...I really don't know what would have happened...

I would be very happy with that. But Kelly also said in a inteview that Let Me Down will probably be a single. And I personally think they would be stupid not to release it since it had so much hype that it leaked.

So right now I'm praying for six singles

1) MKIA

4) I Forgive You
5) Let Me Down
6) You Love Me

And I'm soooo happy I'm not the only the that thinks that Breaking your own heart can smash on country. I'm still pissed at RCA for not releasing Cry on country.

It has country smash written all over it; as does The Sun Will Rise.. one of them will be a country single I think. Hopefully.. they need to get those country sales as country fans buys albums.

If we are talking success wise:

#1) Mr. Know It All
#2) What Doesn't Kill You
#3) Dark Side
#4) The War Is Over
#5) Let Me Down

-Mr. Know It All was a big risk but will end up very successful so I think it was a great lead Single choice.

-What Doesn't Kill You is a hit for obvious reasons.

-Dark Side is the sleeper hit of the album and will be huge and the doubters will believe.

-The War Is Over is a huge risk alone and probably wouldn't have been successful at all because radio wouldn't accept it. Though, since I believe that WDKY & DS will both be huge hits...it will cause momentum for The War Is Over and radio will accept it...like they accepted Someone Like You due to the RITD momentum.

-Let Me Down is a risk but IMO is more likely to succeed over You Love Me, I Forgive You, or Hello.

A fluke that worked extremely well though

After they saw how big of a hit Breakaway was becoming they decided to delay Since U Been Gone and started to advertise Breakaway as the lead Single instead...it was smart if you ask me.

I think i totally got what you mean. IF the second single, third single and the fourth single end up being equally successful on both radio and digital sales respectively, another song from stronger will end up seeing the light of becoming a single. And by then, i'm sure rca will let kelly choose whatever song she wants to be her 5th single. But it really depends. All of us are pretty sure wdky would smash and i personally think ds(3rd single) would smash hard too. The 4th single is the one that i'm not sure how radio would react. either release ify, lmd or twio since they are the most single-worthy.
