I cant at Teddy Bear becoming the criminally underrated song of the album. It's one of my favorites.
At first I glossed over it (but it was the tumblr stream) and then I figured out the lyrics and the metaphor is amazing. Someone who was comforting and made her feel safe like a child and their teddy bear turning on her. Flawless.
Also, I thought the same about Play Date. It's easily the bottom song for me, but even then I'd give it like 8/10 because the album as a whole is perfect.

And your avatar is perfect.
Thank you!
Your avatar, the lips picture from the Lime Crime lipstick shoot, reminds me so much of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Cause lips with no face, and the Rocky Horror is something that can seem quite creepy, a style that works for Melanie, though the lips are blue rather than red. So it just gives me Cry Baby Picture Show teas.
Literally one of the best new pop writers in the game though.
Let's be real for a moment, I haven't had this special feeling about an artist in a while.
She's gonna be here for a long time if she can sing about such mature concepts already.
Just imagine how much she'll grow in her lyricism and concepts by the 2nd album.
A very interesting girl.
Also, is 'Tag, You're It.' about rape?
It's my favorite together with 'Cake', 'Milk & Cookies' and 'Cry Baby'.
(of course that's excluding singles but you can hardly pick any favorites cause they're all just really good)
I'm so impressed by the album. Her songwriting is top notch, amazing pop melodies and the way she literally sings about rape but the song sounds happy as hell The production is amazing as well, I love the toy-pop idea and it was done so well.
I'm so impressed. It hasn't even been 24h since I started listening to this, and I love it so much already
The methaphors, the songwriting, the cohesiveness... damn.
My favourites so far: Carousel (obviously), Soap, Pity Party, Mrs Potato Head, Play Date
Teddy Bear's lyrics are great, but it's production is years behind everything else on the album. I wouldn't dislike it so much if someone else produced it. I would have preferred a "Play Date" feel with those lyrics; to make it comical and creepy.
