There's a certain character in Suikoden I that only has a few windows open, so you're definitely going to need a guide for it. Suikoden II had characters that can be recruited in a different region (after certain areas have been locked) if you missed them the first time around. I think only Gilbert has a window in which you need to recruit him or he's gone for good.

I started Xenogears and am loving it (indifferent towards the platforming stuff though). I looked it up and it's almost 60 hours long though?

It's a really long experience but well worth it. Disc 2 is a bit of a mess due to budget but still good.

Am already seeing so many references that Xenosaga got from it. Are there a lot of Gear battles? Kinda disliked them in Xenosaga, but these don't seem as slow either

If you've already been through some of the game then you've probably missed some %. It's rly tedious to get a 100% without a guide and it might mess up your enjoyment of it

It DOES allow you to get the best ending though. I'd playthrough it normally then replay and get a 100% later on
