Nooo, that's not what we mean. We don't mean she needs to give us something on her birthday, we're just saying that she likes to announce things on certain dates and her birthday would be the perfect date.
This rumor/theory started from her one tweet. It was something like, "When I tell you guys the ARTPOP release date, you guys should throw a party and maybe I will too." People are assuming she's talking about a birthday party.
It has nothing to do with being selfish. I myself was even dragging fans for acting like she needed to give us something on Christmas.

That speculation is based on things that aren't factual.
The fact of the matter is that both the VMAs and Grammy submissions are around September or sooner and she will have something out before that.
