Legendary Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim has condemned Lady Gaga’s tribute to The Sound Of Music at the Academy Awards, calling the performance “a travesty”.
The Born This Way hitmaker sang a medley of hits, including Edelweiss and Climb Ev’ry Mountain, from the movie musical to celebrate its 50th anniversary during the Hollywood ceremony in February.
Her performance won praise from the film’s leading actress, Dame Julie Andrews, but musical expert Sondheim was not impressed by the pop star’s attempts to mimic the screen veteran’s singing style.
He tells Britain’s The Times newspaper, “On the Academy Awards she was a travesty. It was ridiculous, as it would be from any singer who treats that music in semi-operatic style. She had no relationship to what she was singing. What people liked was her versatility.”
Bey's supposedly jealous because RiRi won't stop "flirting" with her Roc Nation beau. Now, North West's momma has similar concerns since the "FourFiveSeconds" collaborators plan on touring together. First she cautioned her "Only One" lover to NOT fall for Rihanna's sexual antics. An alleged insider reveals:
"Kim warned him that Rihanna is bad news and that she'll hook up with any man to advance her career."
Wow. Yeezy apparently laughed his wife off, but that didn't stop her from later approaching Chris Brown's ex.
"Kim took [Rihanna] aside and told her she'd better stay in line on the tour," the snitch said. "Rihanna thought Kim was joking."
And apparently Beyonce "loved" Kardashian's blunt and straightforward warning. Because she totally agrees!
"Beyonce wants to get Jay as far away from Rihanna as possible," the source explains.
Like when I'm walking down a long hallway in one of my campuses old buildings, I play Haunted, strut down the hall, and peak into every room.
My music taste changes significantly with the weather lol. I play very different stuff depending on it's raining and cold, or warm and sunny. I always look forward to the happier music when it gets warmer out.
Are you in a city? It really depends how safe and confident you feel in where you live. Also how busy it is.
It's not that big of a city but I'm mostly in the center due to studying. But it's not like it's safe everywhere. I happen to be in dark & empty areas sometimes so it feels a bit spooky. I make sure to get out as fast as possible tho.
I've become a Shania stan after listening to Up!, Gags! I Feel Like A Woman! and Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under? while taking walks following a long day in school
