There's definitely some truth in there but also Rihanna never made enough money to not release an album so she always had to work. Now that she has an empire she's slowing down cause she knows she's has a different stream of income compared to before where if she wasn't touring.. She wasn't getting much money cause let's be honest.. She doesn't get much royalties.

Well, yeah, that and also because the label/management know very well that in pop music it's best to strike while the iron is hot and when you're young..pop audiences are very fickle and we can clearly see how older acts like Madonna, J-Lo, or Mariah struggle at radio compared to when they were younger and at their prime. Of course Rihanna is still going strong and I agree with you and Bajan when you say she's been expanding her brand, but releasing an album every year, while also a source of profit/meeting certain demands, it's also to put her still out there while there's still enough interest from the GP, I'd say.

See i think you're wrong.

I think Rihanna was aware she had a ****** contract with Def Jam. They we're robbing her.

She was locked in for 7 albums, the best way to gain more control and bigger return financially is if she left them and she did.

If Rih was happy with Def Jam she would've stayed at the label, she left for a reason!

And think about … by her putting out the album she meets the contract requirements, BUT by her not promoting as much (TTT and UNA) the label makes less money off her.

Honestly there's no need for that.
Except if she's dropping R8 this month or next month then she sould definitely put Home for pre-order the same day, cause it's not necessary to be smart to know that one is going to help the other consideribly since it's the same artist, the same day, the same fanbase.

Yeah the 6-7 album contract they made in the first place was complete ******** ... Rih wasn't completely aware of what she was getting into back then, she didn't believe enough in her career. And who could blame her when you see than most of her peers of back then are nonexistent today.

Well Def Jam was definitely trying to milk TTT but Rihanna said "**** you" and she was clearly too sick to push it at some point. Then with UA they made money of DWT.

I think it's a mix of Def Jam pushing her to her limits but also Rihanna knowing she had to work hard and keep pushing.
