First third of votes it was the song that ultimately finished at #3, then for the rest it was #2 and at the last second the current #1 ran in.

Lovely and underrated, which isn't a word I use often with this album, this is a very pretty song. The samples are used very well and the whole thing perfectly walks the line of understated and boring. I love the development in this one too, the simple "My Neeeed" chorus at the start being overlapped with "I Need You..." as the song goes on. It's not my favourite song here, but it is a damn good one and I'm glad it got some respect and beat out most of the album.
Fittingly, only one comment from this and Aerosol puts it even more fittingly, "Rarely mentioned amongst favorite tracks, but it's one of the strongest on the album. Clever and subtle use of a sample that could've ended up being trite and predictable."

Yeah, three songs in and elevens dropping already. Well, this one was ill-advised to say the least but hey, taste is subjective I guess. Which is more bland and faceless, this or the previous elimination? They're pretty interchangeable to me! Must be fate for them to fall side by side. Hey, at least the chorus melody here is a bit better than the preceding one. Discipline does very little (nothing) right, especially not slow numbers. I'm actually struggling to write about this, it's just too boring. Let's see what you all had to say...
Aerosol scolds Janet for repeating tired ideas, "Because Thinkin' Bout My Ex was so great? Move on, bitch." While Auburn laments the limits of the scoring system, "If I could give this song a negative score, I would." And if I could get back the 5 minutes I just spent writing about this snoozefest, I would.

Everything about My Need is pretty great.
At this point I'm wondering why you even counted Greatest X's ballot, but I guess he gave so many 0s and 1s that taking them out wouldn't make much difference!

That's exactly it, I can post the revised results without his scores when we finish if y'all want but they're almost identical.
