I honestly think people just "respect" Aaliyah because she tragically died. I don't even think she was that big before her death, today she would probably be a hasbeen.

I've listened some of her music,it's good but not that good as some people are saying so yea I pretty much agree with you.

Exactly! I love her though! I don't know if she'd be a has-been though (who knows, she would have probably hopped on the electro-pop bandwagon)

Well, the person who wrote that should've included a receipt with Beyonce saying that. We really don't know her exact thoughts on her.
I think Beyonce spoke on her death... She respects her

Really? if anything i thought Déjà Vu was another Baby Boy on steroids.
And End Of Time is both songs on crack and marijuana.
Aaliyah is not one of Beyonce's IDOL...i'm sure she liked her music but nothing in her discography even signals an Aaliyah inspiration with the exception of MAYBE Signs and thats because Missy produced it...i doubt Bey idolizes anyone without major impact and talent...no shade to aaliyah at all but her career achievements and music quality wasnt much to be sought after
Edit: 1 Thing-Amerie was the most obvious Crazy In Love 2.0...Out of Bey's discography I think Freakum Dress was the CIL 2.0 though

I thought her music was just alright, until she just burst back onto the scene with her new song 'Revolution' and when the video premiered I was floored. I absolutely LOVED the "Aaliyah" album, I thought it was great. She was a great dancer.
But back then I was still in love with Destiny's Child too.
