I should have never bought Haruhi, my bank account is falling into an anime blackhole.  Amazon is selling Cowboy Bebop right now for like $20, and I've never seen the show but it's an iconic part of anime history so I feel like I should educate myself.

I gasped when I first read this, but I took a second and I totally get it. This is a really polarizing show for many reasons. Can I ask why you don't like it?

lol, idk why i snapped. 
it's not that bad i guess, it's more like people hyping it up and it not living up to my expectations.
i really like hitagi, kanbaru & mayoi and i guess hanekawa but i can't stand the rest - especially araragi dd.
i just don't think it's for me.
the dialogue is interesting, i'll give it that.
i usually don't even notice the 20mins fly by but idk ... something about it irks me.
i can't even give a reason why i dislike it, i just do.

It's weird, but that makes sense. It probably either nisioisin's writing (dialogue, character development, or plot stuff) or Shaft as an animation studio (almost all of their shows are artsy-fartsy like this, but this is Shaft at their Shaftest). How far are you into the show?
The main girls are all amazing, and I agree that Ararararagi (his whole family) is trash. When you really look at what he says/does, he's so terrible. The only thing he really has going for him is his body, a true ****boy.

i just finished nekomonogatari: kuro and haven't started monogatari series: second season yet.
just seeing the 23 episode list is putting me off lol.
i kinda like karen but the other chick is eh.
im pretty sure it's the art.
i mean, it looks nice and all but it doesn't feel realistic at all.
there are never people on the streets either which kinda makes me feel uneasy.

The art and the empty town is a stylistic choice, I get why it's offputting. It definitely catches me off guard sometimes.
Second Season is legit great. A lot of character development is coming up for Hanekawa, Nadeko,
and Kaiki.
It's a hell of a lot better than Nise, which is def the weakest season. If you like Hitagi, Mayoi, and Tsubasa, I think you'll enjoy the upcoming arcs. The characters are the ones that really carry this show.

The Revolutionary army is fine with where she is, for obvious reasons. I don't know the Yonko's plan yet, they all seem to be in a stalemate with each other. We will likely find out in the coming arcs.

nise was my fave. 
& bake is my least fave, so far.
i forgot to add shinobu as one of my fave characters but she is lol.
ugh. i don't think i dislike the anime. there's just something offputting about it.

Monogatari is awesome. It has some things to dislike (Ararararagi, the no ending incest fetish, etc) BUT it's so good.
Araragi is the main thing I dislike about it. I found him very irritating, but the females make it up for it.

i hate when villains are giving good background story and we are suppose to sympathize with them. Naruto ****ed up most of main antagonist(Itachi, Obito, Pain) for me. they even tried it with Orochimaru
