Y'all I need advice.
I have been speaking to people for a house next year, and I'd have to put down money for it soon (I've already said I want it, but there's an issue) and wire it to the landlord.
I initially wanted to do a scheme which my uni offers where I'd pay a lot less rent and live in student halls, which I did last year and got a good reference from my line manager (who might be also doing the interviews for this year).
The issue is, that the applications for the scheme don't open until March, and so I'm kinda stuck in a way. If I do fully agree to this house there's no going back, it's a contract thing.
I would save a heck of a lot more money with the scheme, but I'm petrified of maybe having nowhere to live next year IF I don't get the 'job'. What should I do?
My parents say delay the house thing, but I just got mailed the lease and it basically says that the peoples names listed are all jointly responsible for the whole house rent which is £1k per month, a.k.a, if I drop out they have to find someone real quick (the contract starts again on July 1st) or pay even more rent.
I know what my parents are saying makes sense, but I'd look like a massive dick to just 'not be able to sign the contract till June' as my Dad seems to think I can do. The landlord said that a scanned signature would suffice, so I can't play the 'I'm abroad' BS.
I'm scared y'all...what do I do? I want the job as its easy going and you save LOADS, but if I DONT get it, I'm officially stuck (I'd probably have to get a really expensive house and be flat out broke for my last uni year)...
