Two of my favourites this year were MGMT and Ladyhawke, they aren't mainstream but I'd like them to be more successful. I liked M.I.A aswell, but after Paper Planes' doing so well I guess she is a mainstream artist now. For some reason I tend to like a song more if it charts well

Because African-American artists get Urban/Pop together. You won't see songs from someone like Britney or Fergie #1 on the Urban radio chart.

"BGDC" is the type of song AC/Hot AC songs would *****, so that made it's audience bigger than the usual white female pop song.

I usually do, although people would respond by asking why do I have 'such a **** taste in music?!' Alot of people are ignorant in that if they have not heard of a song or the person who is singing it they don't like it. If the airwaves were not clogged up with so much **** then alot of the songs I like could be doing well. Look at Lady GaGa... Just dance went by unnoticed by the majority for months, and as soon as it got some airplay it took off and people liked it. Atleast things are slwoly improoving

Well, Shakira who was the last white person to hit #1 on the Hot 100 Airplay before Fergie, broke records on pop radio, and had Rhythmic appeal, but had no Hot AC/AC appeal. So, unless you can break records on pop, and have Rhythmic or Hot AC/AC appeal, and you're white, don't expect to hit #1 on the Hot 100 Airplay anytime soon.The obvious exception is Leona Lewis though. She came so close.

Her mum is white but her father isn't. Her skin isn't very dark so you couldn't call her 'black' but people do anyway. It's the same with Beyonce, Halle Berry etc. They aren't that dark but they are still called 'black'

This is another reason why I think Urban makes up for too much aud. impressions. Pop should get the majority but have the 2nd highest like HALF of the totals and have them all equal (Except Country, adjust it to pop's level too)

Urban radio controls the charts. There's no positive way to change how that is, besides change it to where Digital is the higher percentage of the Hot 100.
