The BTW concept really seemed to develop in mid-to-late 2010, though her support for the disenfranchised and bullied has been here for a long time. What I don't want, however, is more heavy focus on it. I realize that it's a central idea to her existence and something that will appear in her music forever, and I love that - I just want it to be more subtle and understated so that those outside her fanbase aren't turned off by the continuing "love yourself" mantra.
Despite what I said, I agree. I think now that she has the foundation she won't feel the need to be so in-your-face about being yourself. However, of she ditches that, people will still complain.
All she'll need to do is not contradict the BTW message and continue being involved in related causes. She doesn't need to shout it from the rooftops anymore, particularly not in the music.
I agree that she will never - and should never - ditch her message. It's part of her schtick and people would drag her if she dropped it. It's just a question of not over doing it.
So, when do y'all think Gaga will release her self-titled album, "Lady Gaga"/"Gaga", if it was to happen?
It'll be called 'LAGA' (like MDNA), and then people will say it's offensive because it sounds like 'Lager', which is bad for kids, which, apparently, is her 'target audience'.
