I always felt that BTW was the natural progression. I mean during the entire TFM she had those speeches. Not too mention in 2009 she was speaking at lgbt rallies. Also she would always talk about BTW at the monster ball or who can forget vma 2010 where she said things such as "tonight we're the cool kids at the party". Its always been apart of her even listening to Red and Blue ep. BTW was more heavy handed due to the nature of the album and her launching the foundation. its also a lot more obvious when you stan for her. I agree for ARTPOP should be something different, fun and free. However, hoping she stops making/talking about her "love yourself" subject is like asking her to stop making love, religion, sex, party, etc. songs or for her to stop talking about it as it is apart of who she is.
