^ That actually happened a lot during the original series. Plot-driven "coincidences" are this franchise biggest weakness.

This is my second favourite SW movie (behind V, I only like that one and tolerate IV tbh) and the 3rd best blockbuster of the year (behind Mad Max and Inside Out, RT its accuracy: clap3
I don't understand how this movie is getting praised by you all. It's visually epic, but the plot was made for 10-year-olds. This was Star Wars getting the Avengers treatment.
It has surprises, good UNKNOWN actors, some comedy.
It's a summer flick released in December.
I dunno, I don't see Star Wars as a movie that needs to break boundries of storytelling or propose innovative ideas, this has always been a fun driven franchise.
Star Wars itself SHOULD BE FUN, and this movie is just that.
Although the reviewers are overly kind with this movie that is FILLED with plot conviniences, overuse of similarities to episode IV, ex machinas, cheese.
If a Superhero movie or another franchise were trying to pull the same **** up, they be getting some heat for it.
I'm not sure if Rey was dropped off or was born in Jakku. Either way, she was left there by somebody - I assume her family. So the way you're explaining the "force" is like it's the deux ex machina of this movie, as it is the reason for Rey's magical ability to learn how to pilot a ship she has never flown before. Was it also the force that guided her to navigate inside the Starkiller? Did the force tell her which buttons to push - it seems she was always correct?
-if you didn't know by now, the ratio of stormtrooper to resistance heroes in terms of death rate is about 200:1. Finn was a stormtrooper - but now suddenly since he's not on uniform his survival rate went up. It went so high that he could even almost kill a Jedi knight/sith lord.
-Kylo was a bit whiny and had too many daddy issues. Very weak and lame enemy. He was defeated by the combined forces of a stormtrooper and an untrained jedi.
-R2D2 woke up because it was his time in the movie. It was very bad directing. If they meant to show that it was the presence of Rey OR the fact that she had Luke's light saber, they should've shot that scene with more context clues.
This movie was decent, but the inconceivable plot decisions remind me of the X-men/Avenger movies. I could forgive these poorly constructed plot devices if the movie had any sense of epic-ness or grandiosity the way the original Star Wars, LOTR, or Avatar had.

I know, right? I don't know why some people think this is deserving of a nod for Best Picture.
You’re a casually heroic person who is willing to take big risks in the name of a good cause. You’re very kind, and like to help out people who’ve lost their way.
Star Wars may have always been fun, but the OT has always at least been compelling with its storytelling. Screenwriters can still be creative and original without being too out there with their ideas. Again, I really enjoyed this movie but I'm just worried that Disney doesn't bring Star Wars down to Marvel/Avengers-level quality. I'm sure that the next movies will be more original though. The rest of the aspects of this movie (acting, set design, cinematography) were top-notch.
You got: Kylo Ren
You’re a very emotional person, and you struggle with a lot of anger and fear. You have a very specific idea of how the universe should be, and value order above all other things.
I went to see it in IMAX yesterday. I went like an hour before to get good seats, but the theater was packed and I ended sitting closer to the screen than I wanted but it didn't bother me much during the movie.
Anyways, I thought the movie was great. When the "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away" came up everyone was screaming. And every time an old character appeared for the first time there was a huge applause. It was the most fun movie experience I ever had. I'm so glad I went in without reading any spoilers.
I hope this movie manages to beat Avatar cause i'm tired of seeing that movie at the top of the highest grossing list I'll be contributing more of my coins in hopes that it will beat Avatar, and also because i just really want to see it again.
I'm all for new Star Wars movies, but I'm just worried that Disney is going to burn out Star Wars like they did with Marvel
I'm hopping VIII gets pushed back a year. We're already getting Rogue One next December, would want VIII to be out in May 2017 like it's scheduled to be but more like May 2018. I hope the keep some space between each movie.
