Females are NOT at a disadvantage in this day and age, at least not pop females. They are given more credit than the guys who have made their careers.
Again, the females at the top are not even celebrated or valued for their talent. These males that have "made their careers" didn't seek these women out for their talent.
You think if the world cared about female talent for success that we would have the current crop of girls being successful? These women were picked because they were relatively attractive, docile, easy to control, and could be molded into money-making machines.
That's why they have to be as sexy as possible in nearly every aspect of their careers to conform to the male-dominated society judgments that a woman be attractive and desirable above anything else, especially to have deserved her fame and wealth.
Talented females are at an actual disadvantage. We all know this.
It's not just about talent but also having the opportunity and ambition to get your talent in front of the world. If you look at books that's one area where women's talents can shine because they can just sit home and write. Some of the biggest properties of the last 15 years (Harry Potter, Twilight, Hunger Games, Gone Girl, Divergent, 50 Shades, etc) were created by women.
The most successful of those used their initials as their publishing identity to mask the fact that they were female before seeing success. The second and third most successful are regarded as love **** and actual **** for females.
I agree that her musical output was better, but that doesn't mean now that all of the talent and vision she had mysteriously disappeared
It's like claiming Prince or MJ were talentless because they released crappy albums and made stupid decisions (especially Prince) sometimes
They lowkey Gagz praise
Gaga's problem is EDITING. She still has the talent and vision, but she needs someone who isn't afraid to stand up to her and say "Gaga, the basic idea behind this song is stupid/the melody isn't interesting/the verses are obnoxious. Go write a better one."

People might say Gaga is just being a crybaby now, but she has been saying this since before ARTPOP even flopped. But no one was listening
GodGa was very involved in her career, even the facade she created for the first 2 years of her career (which she broke after firing everybody). No man can take that and the talent she still possesses away from her.
Why are y'all just focusing on female stars having a team behind them?
Do you think Bruno does his hair and makeup and styles his photo shoots/music videos and runs his social media all by himself? And of course he's not exactly a one-man show in terms of making his music. I bet he will even have a Sia track () on his next album just like everyone else.
The rich, white, evil men saw Britney as a money-making opportunity and stripped Britney of her dignity and threw her into the industry at a young age, throwing her into contracts and basically making her a slave to the patriarchy. It's actually a disturbing tale of fame and is a reason why Britney should remain inspiring to all of us (she remained someone resilient through it all).
But only the woman who wrote the "Harry Potter" series and "Gone Girl" are the critically-acclaimed ones. The rest of them are trash. Furthermore, the woman who created the "Harry Potter" series is the only woman in that selection that is thinking like a businessman in terms of the story she wanted to create. Look at the subject matter in "Twilight," "Gone Girl," et cetera. All emotion and romance, yet no spectacle and wonder makes a writer a dull girl. Women need to think like men, to be as successful as men. Another thing that you're not supposed to say out loud.
...Vin
You need to be assertive to be successful in any field so yes, I agree with that.
The flip side is (good) Instinct is also the most important life tool one can have (also the real mark of a good artist) and women are the masters at that supposedly.

Bruno doesn't work with other artist for his music...why would Sia be the first???

Talented females are at a disadvantage, not females in general.
I get what you're saying, though. But females (in this current day) is much more marketable to the buying public. Those males behind the scene wouldn't have had the same success using the same formula or music. It's kinda like the "Irreplaceable" thing. Ne-Yo wrote the song, considered using it, but knew that it wouldn't be a big hit without a female's voice behind it, but still he composed that song and all the lyrics you sing are by him.
But let me clarify something here: I'm saying that males in the industry (generally) are more talented than the females in the same industry (I think you're agreeing with me, but stating why there aren't more talented women in the spotlight). Don't know every person in the world.
