LFN is by far the biggest tragedy of PWT. Can't believe someone thought this would be a good idea.

Agreed. Electro-rock is one of my favorite genres
I'm also here for folktronica

Haha, that post described my biggest nightmares about her future direction. OOTB Katy was the most real and funny.

I'd be here for a more electro OOTB. I agree OOTB is her best sound

Im excited for Katy's next release because she's touring with some of the best songwriters in the business. There has to be SOME songwriting going on
Charli XCX, Tove Lo, Kacey Musgraves

She's the most spunky (and real) she has been since she first came on the scene, which could translate well in the studio.
Imo, most of her "mature" sounding stuff seems more forced. Ideally, as opposed to going the dark and grown up route, she'll opt instead for edgy and quirky...like Blackout. Instead of using metaphors for sex, she'll sing about it. She showed traces of that willingness to explore on "Dark Horse" and "Walking On Air." The mature, acoustic album should come naturally and when she truly doesn't give two ****s about her success. On Prism, there was a little bit of everything, but it was all PG. I think she will finally be able to embrace being the pop star she is (instead of thinking of it as a masquerade) once she tells the team that she can't cater to kids under 13 anymore.

So an EP full of lyrics with sexual innuendos ala HH, Peacock, WOA + edgy cool beats ala DH? OMG. She's gonna go diamond I can feel it.

She performs it?! Just looked it up, it's performed alongside This Is How We Do? No wonder I forgot it when it's in the most depressing section, I think I was on my phone getting annoyed because there was no signal at that point. Tragedy she's trying to pretend that there's some sort of connection between those two songs when they're clearly aimed at two completely different demographics.

YAS no more IS, Roars, TIHWD (well actually her personality really shined through on that tbh),
but more LL, WoAs, Uncles... Ready for her to grow up, finally. She's been saying she's wanting to push the boundaries of what the GP thinks 'Katy Perry' is about for a while. Hopefully Madonna will help ha.

A spring EP won't be announced now. But I guess you know more than me. But that makes zero sense.

Hi. I must say, im not Katy´s biggest fan, but i really needed to rant somewhere. Okay, let me start:
This thread about Katy not having a WW #1 album in the last 4 years really got on my nerves. Especially this one specific post:
Quote:
There's no such as a "bad luck".
If she was global enough, she would've outsold all those who debuted with her in the same week.
But bcoz she didn't, it means other acts are bigger than her, thus why people are calling her local.
All the major Pop Girls....Rihanna, Gaga, Beyonce etc. outsell ANYONE who releases at the same time as them, quite easily. That's why they are global.
|
I mean:
Arashi - 670K first week
Gaga - 553K first week
Rihanna - 492K first week
Katy - 453K first week
That being said, except Beyoncé, if the other two released in the same week as Katy, they would have been blocked from #1 just like Katy was, so i really fail to see their point. The obsession with making Katy look less than she is is real and it bothers me so much. Thanks for reading!
