Well, it was pleasant enough to listen to, but I could have done without it. It just felt like it was there to give the album some kind of "artistic" feel and to include a title track.

I thought the intro was among the best parts of the album...maybe because she actually used that chipmunk voice of hers to good effect.

Question, if I were to go to sleep...say in like 3 hours, then got 8 hours of sleep, THEN judged the entries, that'd be within the time frame yeah?

I wasn't going to do track-by-track commentaries but since Huga is here now let me do some.

Aftertaste: I found this a bit annoying, the verses weren't memorable and the chorus had a weird melody that I didn't like. I didn't like the way she drew out the words either. The production kind of saves it a bit.

Something In The Way You Move: OK well this is just a LMLYD uptempo redux but it's so much better than LMLYD so I'm always happy for an improvement. This was the first song on the album I would consider listening to again.

Keep On Dancin': You know what, I appreciate this song for its weird elements. It might not be the biggest bop on the record but it's relatively interesting which I have a feeling is going to be something this record lacks.

On My Mind: Whenever I hear this song on the radio I am bopping, but listening to it in studio quality it's always so underwhelming (I didn't like it the first time I heard it through Spotify). Idk why, it's just one of those songs. It's still a bop, but yeah, when I hear it on radio it's more like a 9.

Around U: Oh, look at Ellie being all cool by using "U" instead of "You". This song is kind of cute but also kind of gives me filler teas. I like it enough but it kind of just feels like a good bonus track or something.

Codes: OK finally a really good song. About time, Ellie. I have a thing with liking Track 7 songs though, it's always been my favourite number. I'd be surprised if this wasn't a single at some point. Easily the best song on the album thus far.

I never heard On My Mind on the radio, but I heard someone else say the same thing about it.

Around U was a highlight for me, because Ellie's obnoxiously high-pitched voice is fitting for cutesy songs.

Holding On For Life: This is almost an instant-grower in that it grows on you with every repetition of the chorus. It's actually pretty solid, I wasn't sure at first but yeah, it's definitely better than most of the album.

Love Me Like You Do: Not this song actually seeming relatively okay in comparison with some of these tracks. I still don't love this song at all, and I don't think it has a place on this album, but it's not utterly terrible.

Don't Need Nobody: The second interesting song on the album. This is quite good, for the most part. I don't really know about the way she sings some parts but I think that'll probably grow on me, and I like that it's not totally predictable and vanilla.

Don't Panic: This is a conflicting song for me because I really love some moments and I don't like others at all. The bridge is amazing, but some of her adlibs and backing vocals are really tragic. This is sort of interesting though, I like the productions in this section a lot more.

We Can't Move To This: What is this tragic mess? I feel bad because I keep trying to get into moments and then she just ruins it with weird moans/grunts/vocal noises(?). Accurate title.

Army: This was pretty simple but it was refreshing after... that song. It had a nice chill vibe, but then it turns into an anthem. It wasn't anything amazing but it was a nice listen.

Lost And Found: This was really cute but it didn't feel like an Ellie Goulding song. But judging by my reviews of this album, perhaps that's a good thing? It was nice.

Devotion: This was beautiful. I wish she went in this direction for more of the album. It still had interesting moments in the production but it was kept simplistic for the parts where it needed to be.

Scream It Out: Expected but rather lacklustre album closer, for the standard edition anyway. It's cute but nothing worth writing home about.

The Greatest: Yeah, I can see why this is a bonus track. Pretty plain and boring. It wasn't bad it just wasn't that good either.

I Do What I Love: This might sound totally crazy but I can imagine M.I.A. hopping on this and killing it. That's probably what I like about it. I can see why some might not like it, but it's weird in a good way, not in a bad way like WCMTT. One of those few interesting songs on the album.

Paradise: This is one of the few songs on the album that wasn't really experimental at all but it was still quite interesting. I like this one, this is what an "album track" should sound like imo.

Winner: I enjoyed this song at first but it did kind of drag a little bit. It's still not too bad and would make better filler than some of the actual album tracks. It started off well but it felt a little too long (and it was only 3:20 )

Heal: This was almost too chill, it was very easy to tune out of. It was a little boring if I'm honest. It might have made a good album closer if it came 10 tracks earlier, but given this is such a long album, I'm kinda done by this point and this doesn't do it for me.

Outside: Well I already knew I loved this track before playing this album, and nothing much has changed. Quality bop. I do prefer I Need Your Love (one of my favourite songs from either Calvin or Ellie ever), but this is a great follow up.
