Yeah the stats are the same. They learn attacks at the same level but they are different. My female learned Charge Beam, Shadow Ball and Extrasensory since evolving whereas my male learned things like Reflect and Mystical Eye

Route 4 I think? It's the one after the first gym that the girl is blocking until you beat viola
