I agree. Sometimes a song that peaked at #2 ends being more succesful than a #1 hit.
"Apologize" peaked at #2 and "The Way I Are" peaked at #3 and both songs were more succesful for Timbaland than "Give It To Me", which was the #1 hit.

Same thing for Jason Mraz with 'I'm Yours' which only peaked at no.6 on the hot 100, yet it is one of the best selling digital songs of all time. Still, nothing compares to being a #1

well i think that BEP will disappoint... im sure they will get top 10, but i'm not sure where in the top 10. and AI can really boost a lot of songs so i think she does have a chance of really getting a huge sales boost after her performance... and yeah her airplay is wayyyy higher.

^American Idol helps songs, but a song as old as Poker Face it won't help as much. Maybe a 10-20% increase in sales. But that's probably about it.

Poker Face is old to some people, like us on ATRL or Lady Gaga fans from the summer, but to most people, Poker Face is new. So I don't see it falling down soon.

Heartless and MLWSWY (newer to most people than PF) both increased between 15-25% after Idol. I expect GaGa to do the same. Cook will probably see a 400+% increase.
