To me, the most appealing thing about the K-Pop business model and the mini albums is the fast pace. Girls' Generation has been around about as long as Lady Gaga, for example, but already probably have significantly more material than such comparable western artists, thanks in part to individuals starting solo careers as well.
I also appreciate this, and I mean this in a positive way, how much more "manufactured" or calculated the artists seem, honestly (not that there's anything fake about them). They control their image and material in exactly the way I wish western artists would.
